Pietta Remington 1858 Issues

A couple of issues I’ve been having with this Pietta 1858 have been with functions and timing. I’ve replaced the trigger, main spring, hand/hand spring, and trigger spring. The timing is good now, but I cannot hear a click when the revolver goes into half cock. You almost need to watch the trigger and guide it into half cock. You do get a click when it goes into full cock. BUT, while it’s in half cock, the cylinder will rotate to load but the hammer will fall if you pull the trigger. All... Henry Buttstock repair?

Hello, I wasn't sure if this would be a General or GS question. I recently purchased a Henry BB Case Hardened Rifle that I purchased on a Cabelas transfer. It was in "new in the box condition" supposedly. I think it might have been a return? I got it home and after I removed the Cabelas trigger lock I found that the buttstock was loose. Technically, it was a used gun. I have submitted a warranty claim with Henry, we'll see how that goes. If it tanks, are there any tricks for... Henry Buttstock repair ..read more

I bought a P239 in .40 and was interested in running a .357SIG barrel in it. I couldn't find the thread, but someone had recently mentioned they called Sig and ordered a P239 357SIG conversion barrel directly from them. I just called Sig however, and they said they don't have any in stock. Does anyone know where I could find one? (Also looking for 357SIG and 9mm magazines for the P239 ..read more

Anyone ever seen a BCG seated like this?

Hello gents, Just got myself a new upper, the AR stoner from midway. I was curious if anyone seen a space like this when the BCG is locked forward. I imagine it’s just the particular design of this upper and the way the BCG sits. Please see first photo for the space towards back of dust port. The rifle cycles the round properly and the bolt turns and locks as it should. The back of the BCG sits flush with the back of the reciever as it should. I don’t have a gauge to be positive everything... Anyone ever seen a BCG seated like this ..read more

How to stop a blued finish from rapid surface rusting?

I have two shotguns, both with original factory matte blue finishes, one is an 870 Express and the other is a Benelli M2 with the black matte finish. Both tend to get rapid surface rust ONLY on the matte blue exterior portion of the barrels and ventilated ribs. Absolutely no rust whatsoever occurs on the inside of the barrels or on any other internal or external metal parts. They are regularly oiled and are usually treated with Shooter's Choice Rust Prevent the same as all of the rust free... How to stop a blued finish from rapid surface rusting ..read more

My rifle began to not extract spent shells. I took it apart and found the extractor is split down the middle. I'm trying to remove it and have a new one on order. It seems like it should be as easy as pressing the detente in and sliding the extractor out. I'm bottoming out the detente, but cannot get it to slide out. Is there some other trick, or am I stuck with dremeling it out ..read more

Model 250 Winchester firing problem

I have an older Winchester model 250, 22 caliber. I have completely taken it apart, cleaned it, inspected all parts, oiled it, and reassembled. Still having the same problem. Lever action works perfectly very smooth. It will load cartridge in the barrel, but will not fire. I cannot figure out if it is something in the trigger mechanism, not releasing the hammer, or the hammer is not being drawn back with the lever. Anyone have any ideas ..read more
