The Kentucky Wildcats are getting ready to take on an Oakland Golden Grizzly team that won the Horizon League, but the metrics don't love them. Oakland is 126th in NET and 1-5 in Quad 1 games. They are 137th in the KenPom rankings, with an offensive efficiency of 134th and a defensive efficiency of 165th.  The Golden Grizzlies do have two really good players in Trey Townsend and Jack Gohlke. Townsend was the Horizon League Player of the Year and is coming off a game in the conference tournament championship game where he scored 38 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. It's the best time of the year in the Bluegrass State as Big Blue Nation is getting excited about the Big Dance.  The Wildcats will get things started with a game against the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, who won the Horizon League.  Oakland has a few players, like the sharpshooter Jack Gohlke and do-it-all forward Trey Townsend, who can cause the Wildcats issues. The key to stopping these guys is watching a lot of film and Coach Calipari putting together a great game plan. Gohlke literally only likes to shoot threes. He won't take the ball to the rim, so Kentucky needs to contest knowin ..read more

In the NCAA Tournament, you need your best players to step up and play good basketball.  This means Antonio Reeves needs to play well for Kentucky to make a deep run in this year's tournament. In the SEC Tournament, Antonio Reeves was in foul trouble and didn't ever really get into a rhythm, which threw off John Calipari's rotations. Reeves was 4-7 in this game for 13 points, but he only played 18 minutes. On the season, Reeves is playing 31.4 minutes a game, so not having your best player on the floor hurts.  In the Big Dance, Reeves needs to make sure he isn't picking up any silly ..read more
