Former player and current staffer Jonathan Hess is ready to accept this rose.
The school that once claimed to redshirt Miss Americas is now poised to say the same about contestants in an even more prestigious competition and institution — The Bachelorette.
On Tuesday, jammed between questions about the thrill of spring practice and the upcoming portal chaos, Lane Kiffin was asked about former player and current recruiting staffer Jonathan Hess officially being announced as contestant on the upcoming season of the reality show:

All the Peay jokes
Roughly halfway through the 2024 season, Ole Miss looks to be trending toward a postseason berth after missing the NCAA Tournament in 2023.
The Rebels (17-8, 3-3 SEC) now will host Austin Peay (15-8, 4-2 ASun) in its midweek before a three game tilt with Kentucky in Oxford. The four game home stand gives Ole Miss an opportunity to have an above .500 week to bolster its top 25 ranking.
Andrew Fischer has continued to lead a power resurgence for the Rebels who are now in the top 25 in total home runs. Fisher accounts f ..read more

A bad start never got better
After receiving its highest seed in the Coach Yo era, the Ole Miss Rebels fell short of its second straight trip to the Sweet Sixteen.
Neither the offense nor defense had it going in the first half as Ole Miss was outscored 21-9 in the first frame, followed by a 22-17 second quarter. Although the second quarter was their highest scoring quarter, losing it by five points is a back breaker for a team that struggles to score in the half court.
Seven of the Rebel’s nine losses on the season came against teams that ..read more

Madi Scott wasn’t ready to go home
For a second consecutive year, Ole Miss will play for a chance to go to the Sweet Sixteen in the NCAA Women’s Championship after a 67-55 win over Marquette on Saturday.
The Rebels (24-8) dominated the fourth quarter of the game after finishing the third quarter with only a 49-46 lead. A huge defensive effort in the final quarter held Marquette to single digits as Ole Miss stretched its lead. The Rebels defense held Marquette to 25 percent shooting from behind the arc - a big drop from its season average of 38 percent.

It’s time to shock the world again
The OIe Miss women are set to tip off their NCAA Tournament run Saturday afternoon as a 7 seed, taking on 10th seeded Marquette.
Last season the Rebels shocked the world on their way to the Sweet Sixteen via second round upset of one-seed Stanford, before losing to Hailey Van Lith and Louisville. Very few people outside of Oxford would have predicted a Sweet 16 run as an 8 seed.
A seven seed provides the opportunity to avoid the regional one seed until the Elite 8, but can Ole Miss repeat last season’s success or better ..read more

Gather up nerds and talk about your vidya games
As we all eagerly await the return of the NCAA Football franchise this summer, there is an opportunity to play with some former Rebels in a different sport.
MLB the Show 24 is officially out for all to play, and there are a handful of Rebs featured in the game. I personally enjoy playing franchise mode and attempting to acquire all the former Ole Miss players into my organization.
The key is knowing where to find them:

Chicago White Sox

Jaxson Dart looks to have his hands full distributing the ball to a deep, talented wideout room in 2024
As Ole Miss kicks off Spring football practices, we’re taking a look at what’s going on with each position group on what looks to be a pretty stacked 2024 Rebel squad. Last time, we checked in on the running back position, one of the few groups for which there is a real depth issue. Now, let’s take a look at a group with the opposite problem: too many mouths to feed.

This bullpen is p good imo
Ethan Lege’s two run homer put the finishing touches on an 8-3 Ole Miss win over Southern Miss on Tuesday as the Rebels have won 10 of its last 11 games.
No. 17 Ole Miss (16-6, 2-1 SEC) struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first, but the No. 25 Golden Eagles (14-7, 3-0 Sun Belt) hit back with three runs of its own in the top of the second. Both teams logged zeroes on the bump from there until the Rebels scored two runs in each of the bottom halves of the sixth, seventh and eighth inning.

A dive into the advanced stats before Friday’s first-round NCAA Tournament game.
One year after a Sweet 16 run in the 2023 Women’s NCAA Tournament, Ole Miss returns to postseason play in the 2024 version, hopefully producing results that make the haters and losers, of which there are many, mad once again.
If you recall last year, the Lady Rebs were an 8 seed and proceeded to knock off 9th-seeded Gonzaga and Number 1 seed Stanford in Palo Alto. In fact, had the team won their Sweet 16 game against Louisville, they would’ve played Iowa and Caitlan Clark. So ..read more
