Putting this here because the varmint hunting page doesn't get much traffic. So, first of all, I've always struggled with my Tactacam, especially with the FTS. Yesterday was no different. The camera tilted to the left and I didn't realize it. I edited the videos to straighten them horizontally. Please bear with me as I work out these kinks. First woodchuck was at 80 yards. So obviously I missed on the first shot (and then you got motion sickness... 2024 Woodchuck Videos ..read more

Days after NRC shortens coyote season in an article the increase in coyotes in Dearborn come to light. Also a grey wolf is confirmed shot in Calhoun county. Besides having a lawsuit against that decision brought against them from MUCc, I'm wondering if they realize how wrong that decision was? Anyway here is a link to the article. Rise in coyote sightings in Dearborn has city weighing options “We’ve gotten into their territory you know," said one resident. "And it’s not a good mix. There’s too many people around.” www.fox2detroit.com ..read more

First spot, I parked the truck just before 9:00. There was a straight line track going south on the road. I kinda figured I was already too late, but grabbed my gear and headed in. A little ways across the field I heard a coyote howling in the woods to the north that I planned on calling to. I picked up the pace and headed for a low spot that would hopefully hide my approach as it sounded fairly close. About half way to my calling spot figured I’d better turn my scanner on and scan the field... Couple Coyotes from Friday Night ..read more

I'm looking to buy a new predator gun (my first) and I am going to put a suppressor and a Trijicon 60mm thermal / IR on it. I was thinking in caliber of .223 or 6.5. Also, I'm not a big fan of the AR platform and I would like a semi automatic. Am I on the right track on my thinking? Any recommendations appreciated ..read more
