Didn’t have the heart to get all wrapped up in coyotes this year, prices don’t warrant fur value kills .

Need helpful advice to set up snares in mostly open terrain, and yes I do shoot them also, looking to increase the rate of kills legally to help rid our hunting property as best we can. Before u suggest leg holds, I live in Florida and they are not legal without a FWC permit, snares I have tons of, so if someone out there is willing to take the time and help me out I’d appreciate it ..read more

Came home from early gardening chores out back this morning and saw a few crows behind the house. Even though they're not "in season", they can still be taken out under certain circumstances according to law: causing a nuisance is one of the exceptions. Since they raid the nests of songbirds, I don't want 'em around. Just don't appreciate the bullies.
Got to the garage where I keep my old Marlin model 81 bolt action rifle (vintage 1937) topped with a Hawke scope. Scope has parallax...

The first real competitive hunt of the Phoenix Varmint Callers season was here, and we were leaving it up to weather on where we should hunt. Either up by Tim's parents' cabin where there are Fox, or down in the desert flats in the Coyote rich environment. Well the temperature made it pretty clear that we should go North as the desert area was forecasted to be in the 90's. Plus it was a rare weekend when the wind would not be blowing over 10mph! Another bonus was we would have beds to sleep...

Hey guys, here is my writeup on the first PVCI hunt of the season, hope you enjoy!
Well the season starter is here for PVCI and we always kick it off with a novice hunt to encourage the expert hunters to take someone new out and get them involved. We had Mike Reiner start coming to the club a couple months prior and he also attended the boot camp this past August. He came to the club due to seeing us post about it on our Predator Beguiled Facebook page we run. I called him up well ahead of...

Hey guys, it's been a while since I updated with any hunt stories. Finally had time to write the last few up...so here it goes!
Dad and Ben have been wanting to get involved more in predator hunting, so I set up a date to take them out for a full day hunt in the early season. There was a slight cool down, but the temperature would still reach 92 that day. We decided to start off with a few tried and true stands that I have had success at in the past. We worked our way up the 25+ mile dirt...
