Earlier this week we learned that we lost one of #ourcorgs Katara. She lived with her mom in our neighborhood, and she was always one of the corgs in the hood I always had to stop to say hello to. Many people would ask if Lia and Katara were related; they weren’t but they had similar coloring and happy facial expressions, save one of them carried a lot more “fluff” I created this memorial video for her based on photos I had of her, and included those shared by her other friends in the neighborhood. You will always be in our hearts and memories Katara, Rest In Peace sweet angel ..read more

How to Start a Business When You Still Have a New Pet to Take Care Of

Sometimes life really does take us on unexpected twists and turns. For example, one day, you could be sitting around idly, unsure of your next business move, and the next, you could be finally starting your long-awaited business and welcoming a pet at the same time. So, if you feel like you’ve been thrown into the deep end suddenly, here’s how to do both without batting so much as an eyelid. Start with the basics Firstly, you’ll need to ensure that both your home and office space are pup-friendly.  Furthermore, you’ll want to make sure the area is safe if you are going to be working alon ..read more

Future Meetups

I’m sure we’re all being more careful with the current COVID-19 situation, and are wondering how this will impact our future Meetup schedule. Both San Francisco and the state of California have declared a state of emergency, and we are evaluating how we should proceed with future meetups. Crissy Field is scheduled for tomorrow at 11am, and we have tentatively decided to proceed with the meetup as scheduled. If you are planning on attending, please review the following: If you are feeling any signs of an illness (even a regular cold) please refrain from attending. There’s also a chance of rain ..read more

Providing the Best Life For Your Aging Pet

Image via Pexels It isn’t easy to imagine your pet getting old, but they do, and looking after a senior pet is very different from looking after a younger animal. Although they may experience some decline in their physical and mental capabilities, their quality of life doesn’t have to follow suit, provided you follow some simple steps. Provide a Social Life Just because your dog has aged, it doesn’t mean he has to give up his social life. A sudden change in a dog’s routine can lead to depression and anxiety. To avoid this happening, provide him with a social life. Your mutt could make an idea ..read more

That Meetup with @Corgowaffles

We recently started following @corgowaffles on Instagram, and if we’d known about them sooner we would have definitely planned on meeting them during our New Year’s SoCal trip – so we were glad they invited us to meet them on their recent visit to the Bay Area. This was the day after our Point Isabel meetup, and was a much smaller crew. Her parents arranged a meetup at Walter Haas Dog Park, it was our first time visiting that park. All of our favorite Corgs were there; @leela_thespacecorg, @bmocorgi, @izzyloaf, @cobiethecorgi, @kubo.thecorgi, and @calypsothecorgi. Waffles was super high energy ..read more

A great day for a meetup, sunny, and a great turnout; including many of our friends that we haven’t seen in a while (Yes Dobby and Nibbi…we’re talking about you ) We arrived a little before 3pm, and the parking lot was packed, but around this hour there were enough people leaving that it wasn’t too difficult to find an open parking spot. Today was also Snickers’ barkday, and his first time to the beach ever so we were glad he could spend it with us. Some day we’ll be successful getting a group picture at Fort Funston, it’s just so difficult to get everyone’s attention since everyone is so spre ..read more

Ending and Entering the Decade

This year we opted to spend New Years Eve in sunny SoCal. We split the time spent between Huntington Beach and West LA. We didn’t really come across too many dog friendly places in West LA, so most of my reviews will be for places we visited in Huntington Beach…which is in our opinion one of the most dog friendly cities we’ve ever visited. Shorebreak Kimpton Hotel Kimptons have long been on our favorite places to stay purely because of their ‘open dog policy.’ While many of the mainstream hotels have become far more pet friendly, the Kimpton at Huntington Beach is probably the most dog friend ..read more

As we crack into the new year, we decided our East Bay friends would want to join us at Point Isabel dog park. If you haven’t been to Point Isabel, you’re definitely missing out. Think of the largest fenced in dog park one could ever want…right on the bay; the only drawback is parking, which on the day of our meetup was challenging. Seems like everyone else had the same idea of going to Point Isabel that day, for some of our members it took them almost 20 minutes to find a parking spot! Nonetheless, for those that showed up, it was a fun time indeed…good weather (considering it had rained the ..read more

This was our third year doing the Lands End hike with the Corgs. Lands End 2019 This is probably one of my favorite meetups of the year. It’s the only time that we go to Lands End and it’s a pretty easy hike for all experience levels – also the views of the Golden Gate Bridge are also fantastic. We were also fortunate that the rain held off till Sunday, so we had a pretty good turnout. Thank you to everyone that showed up for this years hike. Happy holidays, and I look forward to seeing you at our next meetup at Point Isabel on Saturday, January 11th at 11am – be sure to RSVP to secure your sp ..read more
