BUCKNER, Ill. (KBSI) – A Buckner man faces burglary and theft charges after the Franklin County sheriff says he stole a side-by-side and a large amount of high end tools. William D. Basenburg Jr., 30, of Buckner has been charged with burglary (Class 2 felony) and theft in excess of $10,000 (Class 2 felony). SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – A dog missing from the Springfield, Mo. area for three months was recently found in Sikeston. Bree Keeran was reunited with her dog, Roxy, in Sikeston on April 13. On Jan. 15 Keeran took Roxy and her other dog, Dante, for a walk near Springfield, Missouri. Both are purebred Catahoula Leopards. Each wore e-collars to keep them close to the home. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – Two men face possession of child pornography charges in separate cases. Ryan L. Taylor, 49, of Mt. Vernon, Ill. faces a charge of possession of child pornography. He was arrested on April 20 after an investigation was started in January 2024. Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies received multiple cyber tips through the office’s membership with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – One person is in custody after a shooting in Cape Girardeau Tuesday morning. Cape Girardeau Police Department responded to the 1000-block of N. Spanish Street in reference to shots fired at 9:05 a.m. on April 23. Officers arrived on scene and saw a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. Brian Morrell is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action in connection to a stabbing death. CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KBSI) – A Cape Girardeau man pleaded guilty to murder and assault in connection to the shooting death of a 15-year-old girl in 2019. Isaiah M. Lane, 33, pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree (felony murder) and assault in the first degree, according to Cape Girardeau Prosecuting Attorney Mark J. Welker. Mobile home hauler takes out traffic barrels on I-24 work zone

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A mobile home hauler created a traffic back up along Interstate 24 westbound at the 29 mile marker in the Tennessee River Bridge work zone Tuesday morning. The mobile home took out traffic barrels along the work zone where KYTC crews and a contractor are repairing potholes near the work zone exit point, according to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
