On Saturday, April 13th, 2024 the Rockit Live Foundation presented “A Celebration of Garfield’s Brigati Brothers” sponsored by Rosemarie & Louis Aloia and Family, Garfield NJ at Hackensack Performing Arts Center in Hackensack, NJ. On Sunday, March 24th, 2024 Rockit Alumni Arielle Borges’s short film, “Rockit! The Making of a Musician” was a finalist at this year’s Garden State Film Festival at the Berkeley Kingsley Ballroom in Asbury Park, NJ. Arielle’s film captures the unique essence of Rockit and what it means to the academy’s musicians. It has won multiple awards, including a NJ Film Award, Basie Center Best Documentary, Best Short Holmdel High School Film Festival, and a Pegasus Film Fest Selection. Rockit Academy students had a phenomenal session show, “Rockin’ Through the Decades,” on March 17th, 2024 at Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park, NJ. Students performed rock hits from Elvis to Paramore and had some of the most impressive show outfits (and quick change of outfits) in Rockit show history. On December 29, 2023 Rockit Academy joined Kick Cancer Overboard, for their annual holiday event with a concert at Tim McLoone’s Supper Club in Asbury Park. Kick Cancer Overboard is a nonprofit organization that gives free cruises to families affected by cancer. The event raised over $10K and KCO awarded cruises to five families, including Rockit Academy student, Emersyn, who was diagnosed with AML leukemia over a year ago.
