Hi, I have used Adwcleaner since I have seen in some of your posts that it was a good way to remove something dodgy that was on my PC which both MalwareByte and Norton virus could or did seem to see and stop. So I ran Adwcleaner for the first time in my life and removed that thing that was running in the background that was driving me crazy and was sucking on my CPU, but also removed Cyberlink Service without me noticing. BTW, the two things are not related, in the sense that while Adwcleaner detected the thing that was up to now undetectable, which was found in a folder called Low also decide ..read more

Hello, I currently have Windows 10 installed as my only OS. I want to install Windows 7 as a second OS on a different drive (my main OS drive is only 500GB). I was reading how to make a dual boot Windows setup but the information I read didn't go into detail about how to create dual boot OS's on different drives but it did say this was possible. Could someone please explain how to properly set up dual boot OS's on different drives? I understand how to install Windows but what I don't understand is how do I get my PC to give me boot options to select the OS I want to start when I boot up? PC ..read more

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me please. Just some background information on what's happened so far. I've brought some diagnostic software for my car and I have installed it on my laptop. The laptop is running Windows 7 Home. Part of the installation process involves moving one of the files on the installation CD in to a folder on my C drive, however when I try and do this I get the following error message ""Files on this CD-ROM are read only. You can't move or delete files upon this CD-ROM drive" I have tried right clicking on the file and clicked properties and I've unchecked the ..read more

Hi, I have an old desktop (Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, Gigabyte G41 mobo and 1 TB Sata magnetic HDD). To keep my processor and Mobo alive, I am using Windows 7 32 bit. It is vanilla flavor OS without any service packs. As I can see on the internet, there were three service packs that were released by windows. I wanted to know the following about them: Is it advisable to install service packs on my present PC hardware? I don’t have a reason for doing this but just wanted to know if it is OK to do so? I have never installed a service pack. How can I do it offline? Do I need to download ..read more

Windows 10 and Windows 7 dual boot on different drives ?

I have an Asus Z270f mobo and Windows 10 installed on an NVMe SSD and working properly. I tried to add a SATA SSD with Windows 7 already installed on it. Windows 7 booted but no USB devices were working, but that's not the main problem. When I tried to boot Windows 10 using F8 key, it started to repair Windows and run chkdsk. I want to know how can I use these two Windows versions in dual boot without affecting each other, even if I remove one of the drives. I know it must have something to do with UEFI thingy. But I am too confused to fix it. Anyone using this config please guide me ..read more

Can't get networking

I have an old Asus N55S laptop I bought back in 2012 with Win 7 (home premium). Haven't used it in years because the network stopped working, both wired and wireless. I recently picked up a USB wifi adapter to try and use the laptop but ended up with the same issue. It'll say I've connected to a network but with limited connectivity. ipconfig won't even list the network adapters and the only thing it does list is Tunnel adapter 6TO4. I tried linux on the laptop (elementaryOS) and both adapters work fine so it is indeed a windows issue and not hardware. Safe mode didn't make any difference eith ..read more

I have a HP Pavilion DV7 laptop using Win 7 Home Pre 64 bit. It wont let me connect to the internet anymore, even if I plug directly in w/ ethernet cable. The ethernet controller and PCI Device both have a yellow lock, and I uninstalled and restarted, but the lock does not go away. I also tried to update the Network Adapter (Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter) but when I tried to update it, it was nowhere to be found on my computer, after i uninstalled it. I went to HP's site to download the latest drivers and install them (5) but none of them will work. So my next course of action was to upgr ..read more
