Successful leaf propagation!

I was worried about the declining health of my “Emeralds Envy” Drosera Capillaris so I took some flower stalk cuttings, and a heathy leaf, I plopped them into some distilled water under my Barrina grow lights. Here is the progress after about 3-4 weeks. I have D. Lantau island x Brevifolia in there as well, it’s been less time so it’s not as developed. It started forming a “nipple” for lack of a better word. I also don’t know where that floating plant came from honestly. submitted by /u/Bryce_lxrd [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Plants looking sad after socal heatwave

Hello everyone, I need some advice on my carnivorous plants. I’ve been keeping them outside in a spot that gets half shade and half sun. However, with the current heat wave in Southern California, I’m worried about their survival. I also just trimmed a couple of dead Venus fly traps, and I’m wondering if they’re going to make it through this intense heat. Does anyone have experience with keeping these plants in extreme temperatures? Any tips on how to care for them during a heat wave would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/galaxy_firefly [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

As title states I would love info dumps on my Butterworts and pitcher plant! So far I know that Butterworts are easy to please and pitchers like humidity. Will the butterworts also like the humidity? Does anyone have suggestions for material to cover the walls and shelf so I can make a DIY "greenhouse" that won't ruin the walls since I'm a renter? submitted by /u/Samib1523 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Several of these "holes" noticed on multiple pitchers. Do I have to bring it inside, or leave it to Nature to work it out? submitted by /u/LAMATL [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
