Hello, I am a complete newbie in the process of backing up family photos from all kinds of formats. There are many Kodak photo prints from the 80’s with a more or less scratched surface which appear cyan. (My current process is Epson v600 → Silverfast 9SE RAW 48bit → Gimp (levels/curves/cleanup) → 24bit png.) Below is an example of such a photo. Are there any tricks for repairing this kind of damage? Hi, A lot of times, I start working on an image, and then I want to add all 8 layers of a text, for example, to a new layer group. The way I do it now is create a new layer group and move the layers into it one after the other, making sure the order is correct. Hi! I am very new to Gimp, and working on getting used to doing things a bit different. I have wanted to move ti Linux for ages, but Photoshop kept me locked on windows. One of the features that I enjoyed on photoshop, was setting the crop tool to a certain dimension (say 1200px x 300px), and in one go, both crop to the sellected area (drag a square around it), resize it to the defined dimention (scaling a corner) and also freely rotate it (by rotating a corner) in order to level the image I have been trying to use the sellect tool on Gimp to achieve the same effect, and although I can set it ..read more

When I tried to install GIMP 2.99.18, macOS warned me it was downloaded from the internet. When I checked System Settings, Privace & Security, it told me that GIMP 2.99.18 wasn’t signed by a known developer. How to create a C or C++ plugin that will work on MacOS and workarounds seems to imply that GIMP is supposed to be signed. Why isn’t macOS recognizing GIMP as being signed? I have downloaded the CMYK files from Acrobat. I am working on a sticker and want to convert color to CMYK. I imported most of them into GIMP via soft proofing. However when I choose color management convert to ICC color profile, I get the error message "ICC Profile Validation Failed: Color profile is not for RGB color space. I had selected the CMYK file Coated GRACoL 2006 As you can see in my uploads, the file is obviously there to select but I get the error. ps. does anyone know what the various CMYK files from Adobe are used for? So im on a new computer - Mac Sonoma M3 chip and use Gimp not very often and have the following question. Ive previously used Gimp on a T2 MacBook Pro.
