2020: A Lesson in Gratitude As we come to the close of 2020 and look ahead to 2021, one word comes to mind forme…GRATEFUL. I am GRATEFUL for the smallest of things like my morning coffee, a phone call with a friend, the ability to Zoom or FaceTime when we can’t be together in person. I’m GRATEFUL for good books to read and amazing music to listen to and all the things that inspire me to be the very best me. I’m GRATEFUL for the gift of design and for all my clients who trust me to do something beautiful and transformational for them. Most of all, 2020 has me GRATEFUL for all the special peo ..read more

Living Colorfully 2021 has been all about color for me! After 2020 (what a strange year it was for us all!), I felt a natural pull towards color. It was time for a change—we needed things to be brighter and a bit more positive. We needed COLOR! While I will always anchor with a mix of neutrals, lately I’ve found myself drawn to brighter tones and wanting to mix in color more than ever before. My designs remain timeless, just with a fresh palette. In the spirit of living colorfully, I’ve rounded up a few of my favorite colorful moments. I hope you enjoy as much as I do! right: This ..read more

Yearly Wrap-Up: Reflecting on 2021 As we come to the close of 2021, I am keenly aware of what a gift it is to me to do design. I derive such a keen sense of purpose in creating environments that elevate people’s lives. It’s a passion for me. And, to me, it’s also such a beautiful dance that I get asked to step into every time I create a new project for my clients. I tee off them, they tee off me, and it’s always something new and beautiful. I consider our homes to be our most special places, and so there’s something very personal and signi cant to me in creating homes for my clients that ar ..read more

A Trip Well-Spent Visiting High Point Market this month was an experience rich in inspiration and new resources to incorporate in our designs here at VGI, but it also meant so much more to me. This was my first trip since the pandemic, and it was wonderful to be among this amazing design community again—in person and maskless. Seeing faces and smiles, laughing with both old and new friends; words just can’t describe how grateful I am for the experience. Market always inspires me, so I wanted to share a few of my favorite finds and trends (some of which you’ll be seeing in my designs ..read more
