The Kimbell Art Museum announced the acquisition of Artemisia Gentileschi’s Penitent Mary Magdalene, a famous and often-copied masterpiece that has remained in private collections since its creation around 1625–26. The painting will be on view beginning Friday, September 6, 2024, in the Kimbell’s iconic Louis I.
