Family Photo Looks
Chronicles of Frivolity
by Katey

We took our family photos a few weeks ago, so I wanted to create a landing page of coordinating outfit options I shared on Instagram in August. This year, we went with a lavender, purple, and denim theme, and I adore how they turned out. Maxi looks about ten years old to me, and Harry, well, he is turning out to be quite a little ham. I have to tell y’all the funniest story- because what family photo session goes perfect?! Our whole family was going to be in boots (hello, Fort Worth), but Maxi had worn her silver boots to a birthday party two days prior. The birthday party had monkeys and a ..read more

Our Fall and Thanksgiving Table
Chronicles of Frivolity

Turn on your JavaScript to view content Mushrooms and sponge ware and pink and green and reindeer moss and pumpkins- oh my! Our fall dining table feels a bit like the jewelry box of my design heart was opened up and scattered about. My Thanksgiving tablescapes have evolved over the years, but I always manage to keep color and texture at the heart of it all. I was thrilled to repurpose most of these items, the only new things were these moss mushrooms and miniature pumpkins– both Amazon finds, of course! And at the heart of it all is my collection with MacKenzie-Childs. I’m s ..read more

Fall at Home

Turn on your JavaScript to view content Fall…sweet, fall. We are entering the at-home season, or how I view the colder months. Hot chocolate. Holiday movies. Warm, comforting meals that simmer all day. Staying in pajamas with no place to be! I wanted to share a few bits of fall around our home; I think we will finally dip into the 80s for GOOD as of tomorrow, so it will actually start to feel like fall here. Here are a few things I’m loving with the shift in seasons: Recipes– I bring out the crockpot as there is a shift in meal planning. My friend, Kellie, always sends me the be ..read more

Day in The Life
Chronicles of Frivolity

No, your eyes do not deceive you. It’s not 2015, but we ARE doing a day in the life post. And I laugh because I’m sure I haven’t done one in ages. But I love reading whenever Mix and Match Mama blogs them, so I thought I’d bring it back. No breaking news here, as my days are pretty routine, but let’s break it down. 5:15– I set 87 alarms to go off at 5. 5:01. 5:02. 5:03. And by 5:15, I’ve usually opened my eyes for good. Paul makes my coffee every morning, but this Monday, he was actually sick. He had a cold that Sunday and Monday, so I tried to be quiet to let him keep sleeping. I rolled out ..read more

A Tablescape with Pink and Green
Chronicles of Frivolity
by Katey
7M ago
Turn on your JavaScript to view content When I set this table in August, I envisioned the table I’d want to set all year. I took the base pieces I gravitate towards all year long (pink tablecloths, spongeware, Estelle coupes), knowing I could have these pieces lean to certain seasons based on a few tweaks. My mind is already racing for October! I picture moss coming out of the pagodas with mini pumpkins spilling out. Almost as if the pagoda was Cinderella’s carriage. My collection with MacKenzie-Childs can be the icing to your table year-round- think a pink and green Christma ..read more
