Walmart is introducing a new kind of Sam’s Club in Grapevine that will be different from the rest: It'll be an all digital store, without checkout lanes.
The store is a reopening of sorts of a store at 1701 W. SH-114 that closed in 2022, when the roof was badly damaged by a tornado on December 13.
According to a company representative, the new store will open on October 17, with fanfare and a full schedule of events listed below.

A burger-and-beer joint founded in Arizona is coming to Texas: Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers, a casual restaurant serving exactly what the name says, is opening its first Texas location in Euless at Glade Parks, 2221 SH-121.
According to a release, it'll open on October 16 with a menu featuring starters, wings, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, macaroni & cheese, and breakfast.

Fort Worth launched a convenient new bus line in September that connects between downtown hotels, the Fort Worth Stockyards, and Trinity Metro TEXRail’s North Side Station.
Called the Orange Line, it began service on September 15. To introduce the service, Trinity Metro is giving free rides on the route through October 31.
The agency's goal is provide a convenient connector for residents or tourists, with simple, easy-to-understand service and innovative design elements.

A cool new dessert shop has opened in Fort Worth with some exotic icy treats. Called Pop-Pop Feducchi’s Italian Ice & Ice Cream, it's a mom-and-pop food truck that just opened at 4621 Camp Bowie Blvd., next to River Crest Gas and Service.
As the name implies, Feducchi's specializes in two frozen desserts, both of which are rare in North Texas: Italian ice and Philadelphia-style ice cream.

Fort Worth has more big things to spy in the sky: two comets coming in October, one of which is an extra-brilliant comet that rarely passes Earth. Both have complicated names.
Comet A3 Tsuchinshan–ATLAS is the first and will start to appear in the evening sky on October 9. According to Space.com, it'll be a little more visible every night through October 12, when the comet comes its closest to Earth. Thereafter, it will move away and will fade rapidly.

A national promotion to hype the anniversary of cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants kicks off on October 8, with the participation of 10 restaurants near Fort Worth.
In this case, "near Fort Worth" means Dallas.
Called the Krabby Patty Kollab, it's a program in which restaurants were invited to do their version of the Krabby Patty, the signature dish of Spongebob Squarepants, a cartoon that debuted on the Nickelodeon channel in 1999.
