I am currently having this issue with my driver-side door lock and plan to take the door apart tomorrow to investigate, but I was curious if anyone here has had a similar problem before and could potentially speed the process/eliminate some troubleshooting. Sometimes when unlocking the car with my clicker only the passenger side door would unlock leaving the driver side door locked, but the driver side door could be unlocked manually with the key or inside with the switch. Fast forward a few weeks and the driver-side lock switch is completely stuck and unable to be manually opened from the ins ..read more

Hey everyone.
Long story short, she drove over the median at an intersection head on.
Surprisingly the bumper somehow didn't get hurt but she did some pretty bad damage to the part that is the front jack point.
Seems this is connected to the hood latch above because now the hood latches but has enough play I'm scared to drive on the highway.
She also demolished the large metal plate protecting the catalytic converter and oilpan.
I had to get a new one. The catalytic converter itself has a big dent in it but nothing is rattling inside.
I took a look and the best way I can describe it is tha ..read more

I'm pretty sure you don't dare use it with rear wheels down. I have successfully pulled a Porsche 944 turbo backed onto the dolly with front wheels down, but I think our cars are a lot lower in front. I'd be curious if anyone has done this successfully. For short trips you could probably have rear wheels down and motor running but that's no good for long hauls. I have heard of some cars that have had a pump installed in the tranny, but that's getting pretty drastic. Some companies have made U-joint disconnects but they're rare and don't think any are available for our cars ..read more

I live near a DMV and local driving instructors bring their students through the neighbourhood all the time to practice for their tests. The cars are very often displaying some form of "Student Driver" stickers on the back, and when driving around them, one tends to leave a little more room for the stupid things they often do.
It occurred to me that having such stickers on the back could have some protective value. But I'm thinking I want to put a subtle spin on the idea.
I've found stickers that are
STUDENT DRIVER
STICK SHIFT
which was appropriate when I got my '86. I might even have boug ..read more

Hello guys,
Unsure if I'm doing this correctly in terms of posting as this is my very 1st post, but I frequently visit the forums for guides/tutorials and whatnot.
Does anyone know what kind of spoiler this is that's circled? I've been searching for days now and cannot find it. I'm interested in both the GT Wing from Battle Aero and that minimalistic spoiler as just having the GT Wing alone makes the car look weird imo. I'm also open to other lip spoilers that would look good together and if anybody has photos for references, that would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advance!

im doing a timing cover job, and im using "the right stuff" rtv. how long would you guys wait to put oil in when its consistently 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit outside? I thought I was playing it safe by waiting around 36 hours instead of the recommended 24, but is that enough ..read more

Well my oem battery from ‘15 when i bought the car new finally shit the bed and i replaced it with the 15 Lb Braille, heres my install and custom homemade tray. My 15 lb’er was actually 13.96 lbs, and with keeping the OEM hold down plus the custom tray i wound up shaving 13.49 off of the front end. This is my first post since 2019 and i have done many things to my ride since i bought her, performance, weight savings and aesthetics, this is just my most recent. I truly do love the 86/FRS /BRZ platform, lol, so many names.
