We’ve officially reached the end of an era. The Philadelphia Eagles announced on Wednesday that legendary wideout, DeSean Jackson, will officially retire as a member of the team on Friday, December 1st. He will also be recognized as an honorary captain for this weekend’s clash against the Niners.
A truly remarkable career
DeSean Jackson will go down as one of the all-time Eagles greats. He was drafted in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft and would go on to spend eight out of a possible 15 seasons with the team, earning three Pro Bowl honors in the process.

As Philadelphia Union and their fans saw another stoppage time goal consign them to defeat, and did their best to shake off flashbacks to 2022, one of the most prominently expressed feelings was…relief. The 2023 season felt like a decade rather than 10 (or is it 11? Who knows anymore!) months. The Union’s sole reward after a season of doing very well across the ever-growing slate of competitions, but coming just short in all of them, is exhaustion.

The third meeting with the Carolina Hurricanes (13-8-0) didn’t go as planned for the Philadelphia Flyers (11-10-1). Travis Konecny scored the lone goal for the home team in a 4-1 loss. When the opponent scores first, the Flyers have a miserable 0-9-1 record.
“We got to work a little bit harder. I think [we had] urgency throughout the game, but spurts of it, not good enough consistently; not supporting the puck enough. They played hard.”
Scott Laughton; 11/28/2023

It’s a revenge match of sorts in the Metropolitan Division tonight. The Philadelphia Flyers (11-9-1) are hosting the Carolina Hurricanes (12-8-0) in their third season meeting. It’ll also be Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Wells Fargo Center.
There will be four games overall, and thus far, the road team has taken the last two contests. The Hurricanes won the first game 3-2, and the Flyers took the second one 3-1. Their series will finish at PNC Arena in Raleigh on March 24th.
Philadelphia has been having a slightly unexpected season. In a year that many believed would be a rebuild, th ..read more

Since coming over in the James Harden trade at the end of October, Marcus Morris Sr. has continued to find his footing with his hometown Philadelphia 76ers. As he began his Sixers career, Morris looked uneven, to put it mildly. Recently, he’s appeared far more comfortable with two 16-point performances in his last three games.

DeVonta Smith; AKA The Slim Reaper, AKA Skinny Batman, whatever you want to call him, told everyone before he ever set foot on an NFL field that a storm was coming, and more specifically “I am the storm!”
DeVonta has certainly made waves across the NFL with his acrobatic catches and pinpoint route running over the first three seasons of his NFL career, but while the league may have been impressed, he isn’t.
“Just doing my job. Coaches trust me, Jalen trusts me. They’re giving me the opportunity, I’m just going out there and making the most of it.”
And he’s been doing these types of ..read more

Monday night, the Philadelphia 76ers handed the Los Angeles Lakers their fifth-worst loss in franchise history. Behind this herculean effort by the Sixers, three things stood out:

The game last night was circled on a lot of calendars for Philly fans. Why? When the Lakers come to town, it’s a big deal. Those who dropped a pretty penny on tickets knew that stars would be ..read more

Monday night provided a clash of the Titans as Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers faced Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers. Two of the best big men in the NBA faced off in a National TV Showdown. What many hoped to be a great game turned out to be a Sixers’ beatdown. They defeated the Lakers by 44 points in a game that really wasn’t close after the first few minutes of the first quarter.
Here are three takeaways from the Sixers’ lopsided win over the Los Angeles Lakers:
