Couple of New Racing Additions

There are a couple of new arrivals at Slot Car Club in what has been a busy time for the growing collection. The first car to arrive is the final BTCC car to add to our collection. It is C4409 – the Honda Civic Type R from BTC Racing driven by Josh Cook in 2022. Despite the main colour being black, we really like the livery with blue and gold. The real car was not a front runner but still did well at the hands of Josh Cook and Jason Plato. As with all our other BTCC cars, we have changed the tyres to those with logos on, which improve the look of the car completely. The second car to arrive ..read more

Jordan F1 Transporter

With the current club track in hibernation, it was time to work on a project that we have had in mind for a long time – a Jordan F1 transporter. One of our favourite F1 teams is the Jordan team, as their yellow cars really stood out. There are a few 1:32 trucks available to buy that can be used as a race transporter, but there was nothing in Jordan colours, as the team was sold many years ago. We already have a Ferrari and Renault truck ready for the paddock, but there was nothing pre-built in yellow colours. There are F1 transporters a plenty in 1:43 scale and so we decided to use one of thes ..read more

Legends Appear At Slot Car Club

The famous American-based Legends are now a new category at Slot Car Club. The Legends series has been hugely popular in America and now has a growing following in the UK. This is part in thanks to it joining the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) series, but also thanks to its close, exciting heat-based racing. We have been admirers of the Legends cars produced by Pioneer for a while. Although they are 1/24 scale, they look fantastic and also come with a built-in Scalextric based DPR slot. With only a few twists of a screwdriver, they can easily be converted to run on a Scalextric track ..read more

New Scalextric cars for 2022
Slot Car Club

With another year flying by, it gets harder and harder to keep up with the new releases. In fact, we have not even purchased the cars we wanted to get from 2021, so the fact that Scalextric are also running late with their release schedule is helping us. As we already have so many cars at Slot Car Club, our main focus is on BTCC as usual. Thankfully, Scalextric have released a few more for the series to keep us excited and keep the money leaving our wallets. So the first bit of exciting news is some historic BTCC cars. From the main image, you will see the classic Kaliber Sierra Cosworth RS500 ..read more

Another year has passed and Scalextric have released their 2021 range already. Not bad when you consider the world has gone through a pandemic and the wheels of manufacturing still seem to be turning and keeping to schedule. So what is in store for 2021 and what cars could we see at Slot Car Club? As per usual, we do not cover the whole range, but focus on the cars that will fit within our own race series at the club. Firstly, BTCC is our main series that we are building year on year. We are lucky that there are some new BTCC cars to spend our pennies on. Alongside the existing BMW E330i model ..read more

BTCC Thompson VW Has Arrived

Today, we are pleased to receive the Volkswagen BTCC car of Bobby Thompson. The C4016 is yet another Scalextric BTCC car from Scalextric and is now the fourth VW. We set about changing the tyres immediately and before we took these photos. Scalextric have confirmed that the plain tyres were part of a cost saving, but we think you will agree that the small additional expense is definitely worth it. This VW is part of Team Hard and there should be more from this team arriving in 2020. Although we like the car, we have to admit that this livery is not up there with our favourites. Perhaps it is ..read more

New Scalextric cars for 2020
Slot Car Club

Yesterday, Scalextric announced their new releases for the upcoming year. So how did our predictions fare and will we be happy racers this year? Read on and find out all about the new range. Our main prediction for 2020 was that there would be two Ford GTEs in Castrol colours. We thought that there would be a twin pack, with both cars that featured in the Daytona 24 hour race. Our prediction was close as one of the Castrol cars will be made, along with a lovely looking purple GTE from Le Mans 24hr. Our biggest focus was on the BTCC releases. We had predicted two cars and thought the MG6 and a ..read more

Slot Car Club 2019 Year In Review
Slot Car Club

It has been a mixed year for Slot Car Club in 2019, as progress was made and a circuit saw the light of day (well the light in the garage) until the flood of 2019 washed it all away. Off track the collection has grown, with the addition of some lovely BTCC cars and a couple of new F1’s. The BTCC is still the firm favourite of the club with a huge number of cars to choose from. GT cars and DTM are close runners up meaning that saloon style cars still lead the way. This could be because they resemble road cars or just because they are more sturdy than open wheel cars. There is a real desire to a ..read more

British American Racing team added to F1

We have recently added two more Scalextric cars to our F1 stable, which will be classed as the British American Racing team (BAR). They will use the Earth car which was raced by Jensen Button and Rubens Barrichello in 2007. Those of you with a keen eye may raise the question that the Earth cars were actually part of Honda F1 Racing cars. We are aware of that but we had a dilemma. The BAR team was set up in 1999 and initially funded by British American Tobacco until Honda became a part-owner. They raced into the mid 2000’s until tobacco sponsors were banned, at which point the team was bought o ..read more

BTCC MG Dual Liveried Car Unveiled
Slot Car Club
by dotnames4u

We have added to our BTCC collection with the Blue/orange Dual liveried MG of Rory Butcher. The C4017 is the latest BTCC car from Scalextric and is the third MG in the set. It is arguably the most colourful, with an orange livery on one side, with an almost identical blue livery on the opposite. We really love the look of this car and think it looks great going around our track, as it seems to change colour as it goes. As is now usual for BTCC cars, it comes with plain tyres, so the first thing we do is to add some logo tyres. This is a real frustration for us to have to do this and seems to ..read more
