The third edition of Scalextric’s track plans featured 36 Scalextric classic track layouts. Classic track was released in 1962 and are connected together by two circular spoon-shaped pins and sockets on each end. There are converter pieces available to link classic track with today’s modern sport track. Track Pack 5 features 18 new Scalextric track designs. These slot car tracks will fit a 14′ x 7′ layout. One of the layouts is a large, fast two lane oval. Building off this large oval layout, there are six additional road course layouts that fit inside the oval. Scalextric design software is limited to a few current programs and several outdated titles that are no longer supported or even available to register. Another program that we have found recently that supports Scalextric track is AnyRail 6. AnyRail is primarily targeted toward model railroad hobbyists however they offer a library with all the current Scalextric slot car track components. Carrera Go!!! is Carrera’s entry system into the world of slot car racing. Carrera GO track layouts can include loops and fly overs that are not available in the larger 1/32 and 1/24 scale tracks. Fly overs are inclined curves that have much more elevation than traditional banked curves. In other words, super banked corners!
