Race-time lap counting and timing are managed with the SlotMaster software and hardware system. The track is constructed using a standard Scalextric Sport track and is placed upon a permanent and purpose-built cut-to-shape support 'table' structure. Electrical power is distributed around the circuit to assist even power levels.

A last! Though the club has been running under requirements to wear face masks, hand sanitisation and temperature checks for the past 6 months following a closure since March 2020, WE ARE NOW FULLY UP AND RUNNING!

A six lane wooden routed track with steel braid,
The second round of the South East Interclub Championship saw Medway play host to Viking and Larkfield Slot Car Clubs at their venue in Chatham.
With a grid of identical Slot It Can-Am McLaren’s the emphasis is very much on the driver; however, the track surface and tyre choice made for very different handling characteristics to what can typically be found at the Viking track; putting the advantage very much with the home team hosts.

The pace of racing showed no signs of letting up throughout February with the first of 2020’s “Super 25” rounds; the class this time being Rally Cars. The Super 25 class of racing opens up the category from standard, allowing the use of 3D printed chassis, anglewinder configurations, and higher RPM and higher mag downforce motors. The rally car class seems to really lend itself to some modification and as such, February’s racing creates some of the fastest cars we’ll use at the club throughout the year.

A new year ushers in a new season of racing at Viking SCC and the opening rounds saw the Slot It Group C cars take to the track. These fantastic cars are high in detail, high in quality and high in visual nostalgia with their iconic design and classic liveries. A gleaming silver Sauber Mercedes C9. A Leyton House Toyota 86c. Lancia LC2’s in Martini colours. Porsche 962’s available in a plethora of iconic liveries. A grand sight for any motorsport fan and great to see hurtling around the club track.
