In the 1970's, Pittsburgh was known as the "City of Champions" with the Steelers, Pirates, and University of Pittsburgh winning titles throughout the decade. The Penguins, however, had minimal success during those years. All of that would change in 1984 when they drafted Mario Lemieux.
