Russell Wilson is now a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers after signing a team-friendly, one-year deal last week with the franchise that boasts six Super Bowl titles.  The QB has been fired up about the move, as he posted a hype video after the deal got done. The Steelers later added another QB, Justin Fields, in a trade with the Chicago Bears, so Wilson might have some competition for the starting job in Pittsburgh.  On Wednesday, Wilson, who is coming off a disappointing two-year stint with the Denver Broncos, shared another video on social media, whic ..read more

With the 2024 NFL draft just over one month away, rumors and reports about potential trades are ramping up. One team at the center of such conversations is the Arizona Cardinals, who possess the No. 4 pick in April’s draft. Arizona general manager Monti Ossenfort confirmed the team is “open for business” in terms of fielding offers for its first-round pick, and he expects trade conversations to pick up at the annual league meetings, which take place March 24-27. “I think we’ll always have the conversation,” Ossenfort said, via NFL Network’s Grant Gordon. “We may not get to a point where a ..read more

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. intends to visit the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, according to CBS Sports’s Josina Anderson. The Miami Herald and The Athletic confirmed Anderson’s report Wednesday night. The 31-year-old Beckham was released by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month. Last season, he recorded 35 catches for 565 yards and three touchdowns in 14 regular-season games in Baltimore, averaging a career-high 16.1 yards per catch.  The Herald noted that the Dolphins have “shown interest” in Beckham this offseason, hoping to add an ..read more

Alabama’s Kool-Aid McKinstry Runs 4.47 40-Yard Dash With Broken Toe at Pro Day

Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry is hoping to be one of the top defensive backs off the board in the NFL draft next month, and his 40-yard-dash at Alabama’s pro day on Wednesday likely helped his draft stock. Despite having a Jones fracture in a toe in his foot, McKinstry clocked a 4.47-second 40-yard dash. His ability to run a time that fast with a broken toe that will require surgery on Friday is a testament to his speed, athleticism and durability. Alabama CB Kool-Aid McKinstry probably made himself some money here at pro day, running a 40 that scouts clocked as low as 4.47 ..read more

Fantasy Football 2024: Updated Player Rankings by Position
Sports Illustrated Magazine » NFL

The NFL’s free-agency frenzy has been a wild ride, as several big-name players will be wearing new uniforms this year. We’ve also seen high-end players get traded, released and re-signed, and all of it has seriously shuffled my 2024 seasonal player rankings. At quarterback, the biggest mover is obviously Justin Fields. Traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers and projected to back up Russell Wilson, Fields went from a top-12 field general to being ranked outside the top 30. I have also included rookies, which is an exercise in futility before the NFL draft, but their ranking at least gives ..read more

NFL Free Agency 2024: Most Improved Teams Include Raiders, Bears, Falcons
Sports Illustrated Magazine » NFL
by Gilberto Manzano

Many NFL teams improved after the first wave of free agency and they did it in a variety of ways. For example, the Chicago Bears traded players and spent money on top free agents. They even traded away one of their best players to make room for an intriguing quarterback from USC. Well, that’s what everyone is assuming, at least. And that player the Bears traded made the Pittsburgh Steelers stronger. Many teams made moves with the 2024 NFL draft in mind, while others went all in on veterans with the hopes of becoming Super Bowl contenders. The Houston Texans are one of those teams, becoming a t ..read more

The first wave of NFL free agency is over. The money has been spent. Yet how many positions saw a legitimate market-setting offseason? Fewer than you might think. In fact, none were reset through free agency, and only one offensive position saw a new name emerge. For clarity, we’re judging the contracts based on annual, and not total value. This is a look at which players are getting the most money on a yearly basis, with most locked into long-term deals. So who owns their respective markets? Let’s take a look. Jameis Winston hasn’t played a single snap for the Cleveland Browns yet, but he’s already well on his way to becoming a fan favorite. While many fans loved the team’s decision to add Winston on a one-year deal, that excitement escalated on Wednesday when a clip of the signal-caller went viral. The Browns introduced Winston on Wednesday, and he wasted no time getting to work. The former New Orleans Saints quarterback was filmed taking snaps under center with a player that appeared to be 2023 draft pick Luke Wypler. Best of all? Winston was doing so while wearing the sam ..read more

Caleb Williams Won’t Get Ahead of Himself Despite Dazzling at Crowded Pro Day
Sports Illustrated Magazine » NFL
by Gilberto Manzano

Caleb Williams used his words carefully, saying it’s possible he could be playing for the Chicago Bears in the fall. He also said it’s exciting knowing that Keenan Allen could “possibly” be his wide receiver at the pro level. He even took it as far as saying it’s possible that he’ll be picked during next month’s draft. That one made the horde of reporters chuckle, including the Chicago beat reporters who made the trip to sunny Southern California for USC’s pro day Wednesday morning. “I wanted to come out here and put on a show,” Williams said. “I’ve been training for this next step. It’s only ..read more
