In June 2023, Tania Gelmetti, our in-house nutritionist and hypopara patient, undertook a research project for her Master’s degree on symptom management in people with hypoparathyroidism. As far as we know, this is the first study to look specifically at diet in hypoparathyroidism. Tania surveyed our community and  compared the frequency and severity of symptoms in people on calcium supplements and those who only used food sources of calcium.
