Pet Import fees may be on the rise under proposed changes
Are you looking at importing a cat or dog into Australia this year? Then I suggest you keep up to date on the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries website https://www.agriculture.gov.au
Not only have they increased the length of quarantine to 30 days, but fees are expected to increase from July 2023 due to the higher complexity of the biosecurity system and regulatory activities since the last pricing model in 2015-16.
The importation charge for cats and dogs will move to the same charging arrangements currently applied to live birds an ..read more

Introducing a new kitten to a home with an established cat can be tricky, but with patience and careful planning, it can be a smooth transition for both felines.
Remember, whenever you are bringing a new cat into your home, it's always wise to get both cats' health checked and cleared by your vet.

Bengal cats are not considered to be particularly susceptible to diseases. Unlike the acquired ones, the causes of hereditary illnesses lie in their genes. Even seemingly healthy cats can transmit the disease to their kittens if they carry the adequate genetic defect or mutation. It is important to exclude the sick cats from reproducing without exception and test the young animals for breeding for known hereditary diseases as soon as possible.

Why zuko is being rehomed:
-zuko has been known to be very laid back and affectionate. Things have changed over this month, his behaviour has changed drastically which makes him act out when he’s bored and does not get what he wants. Zuko has been scratching and randomly jumping on his owners, which can lead to destructive behaviour if you aren’t giving him enough playtime or attention. Something might have happened to cause this change in his behaviour. We believe he requires lots of patience and socialising to get him back to being his usual self. Perhaps he might need a new furry friend to ..read more
