I'm in the process of ordering a 2024 Sierra SLT with the 3.0L Duramax. The dealer is trying to order it with NE emissions even they are located in a federal emissions state and so am I. What is the difference is emissions between the three different types. Personally, I want FE9 federal emissions ..read more

So I will testify that the 3.0 duramax is not bulletproof if it is not taken care of properly, but neither is any motor. Unfortunately, I will have to replace mine and I need to see what the best way to do this is. I have already located a low miles good used motor to swap it out with. Basic question is, do I pull the cab like the Ford, or is it more of a traditional pull. Any information on the best way to do this will be appreciated. Terry

Hi,
I’m considering buying a new or slightly used GM truck with the 3.0 diesel. I’m intrigued by the mpg and power.
I drive about 15000 miles a year. My truck is mainly a family hauler with some work/play mixed in. My commute is only about 10 miles each way. I end up doing this commute 2x a lot of days. Everything I see says to avoid short trips with a diesel. Is 10 miles too short? Should I just stick with a gas truck?
Thanks for your replies ..read more

Well boys after 2000 miles of testing I can now tell you, you can block off the low pressure and high pressure Egr on the LZ0 with no issues. You will have a CEL but it still does regens and runs as it should aside from the CEL. Enjoy ..read more

Just recently bought a 2021 Silverado with 60k miles. I noticed after a week or two of owning it that while cruising around 40 or more miles an hr, when you accelerate at a pace fast enough to speed up but slow enough that it doesn't down shift, there will be a slight vibration. Like it's the torque? It's only when I accelerate at a medium pace. It doesn't shake at all if I step on it. And it's only for a split second, not sure what it is? Anyone else have this issue ..read more

Last Friday my 24 1500 with under 1000 miles stuttered a little, dash and cell phone lit up with a vague text- emission fault take to dealer message, I was a mile or two from dealer and I went directly there. Service guys seemed to nothing about it, and said just run it, we are two weeks behind anyway. Yikes
monday, drove 25 miles from home and on return, URGENT DIAGNOSTIC ALERT, SERVICE EMISSION IMEDIATELY.
and truck was struggling to make freeway speed, and running 2600-3000, made it to...
Pretty sure sales manager fixed and correctly explained what causes emission fault deal ..read more
