Penn State basketball’s postseason swirl continued Wednesday, as 6-10 sophomore forward Demetrius Lilley entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Lilley became the third Nittany Lion to enter the portal, following forward Favour Aire and guard Bragi Gudmundsson. Penn State is in Week 2 of spring football drills, and coach James Franklin said that the new coordinators are growing more comfortable with each practice period. The Nittany Lions get 15 field workouts, culminating with the April 13 Blue-White Game, to install a new offense and defense. Tickets go on sale March 27 for the inaugural Hoppy Valley Brewers Fest, a new beer festival at Penn State's Beaver Stadium. The event, scheduled for 1-5 p.m. May 11, will feature more than 100 craft beers from local and regional brewers, live entertainment and the opportunity to drink on the field at Beaver Stadium. Transfer portal season has arrived for Penn State basketball, as three players (two current, one former) entered when the NCAA Transfer Portal re-opened Monday. Guard Kanye Clary, dismissed from the team in February, entered along with forward Favour Aire and guard Bragi Gudmundsson. Clary's departure was expected after coach Mike Rhoades announced  in February that the 5-11 sophomore no longer was with the team. The Penn State women's basketball team missed the NCAA Tournament but will return to the postseason for the first time 2018. The Lady Lions received a No. 1 seed in the inaugural Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament, a 32-team event sponsored by the NCAA. Former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin is running for a seat on the university's Board of Trustees, joining two former Penn State football players in the spring election for alumni trustees. Brandon Short, an All-American linebacker and current trustee, is running with former All-American defensive end Carl Nassib and current trustee Steven Wagman.
