The case was brought by Gerald Groff, who delivered mail as a Rural Carrier Associate (RCA) from 2012 to 2019 in central Pennsylvania. Groff is a Christian who observes Sunday as the Sabbath, so he was not available to work on Sundays. WASHINGTON, DC — Today, the United States Postal Service filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) of mailing services price changes to take effect July 9, 2023. The new rates include a three-cent increase in the price of a First-Class Mail Forever stamp from 63 cents to 66 cents. If favorably reviewed by the Commission, the proposed increases will raise First-Class Mail prices approximately 5.4 percent to offset the rise in inflation. Birmingham man is accused of stealing 17 pounds of mail using mailbox keys he illegally bought from a postal worker. Derrell Allen Matthews, 38, was taken into custody in Shelby County over the weekend. He is charged with possession of stolen mail matter and possession of stolen postal key. According to a federal complaint, Matthews bought two “Arrow Keys” for $3,000 each from a woman who worked at the Fairview Heights Station Post Office. The keys are used to open mailboxes. FedEx announced on Wednesday that it would be restructuring its operations to combine its ground and express delivery networks. The reorganization is expected to be completed by June 2024 and will create a new company, FedEx Ground Express, which will be responsible for all of FedEx’s ground and express delivery operations.
