Isaiah Simmons | Photo by Adam Pretty/Getty Images
When Isaiah Simmons returned to the New York Giants for the 2024 season there was a belief that the uber-athletic veteran linebacker might be in line for a big role with the team’s defense.
That never materialized, and Simmons is headed back to free agency. Should the Giants bring Simmons, who will be 27 next season, back for a third season with the team?
Reasons to keep Simmons
There are few 6-foot-4, 238-pound human beings who are as athletic as Simmons. He can be utilized in a variety of ways on defense, and we saw during the 2024 season ho ..read more

Could Harris help reinforce the Giants’ offense?
The New York Giants opted to partake in the excellent 2024 wide receiver class, and got themselves one with the potential to be great in Malik Nabers. However, they might find themselves wanting to add another receiver as they continue to build their roster.
Ole Miss receiver Tre Harris could appeal to the Giants for a few reasons. There is mounting interest in Jaxson Dart as a potential option for the Giants at quarterback. And if that public interest is mirrored in the Giants facilities, the team might be well-serve ..read more

Is the Giants’ defensive coordinator the right man for the job?
For the first time in recent memory, the New York Giants are responding to a losing season by not making any significant changes to their front office or coaching staff.
John Mara made the decision to retain both Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen as the head coach and general manager. It’s also being widely reported that the Giants intend to keep both Mike Kafka and Shane Bowen in place as their offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively.
With Kafka, at least, it’s understandable. After all, D ..read more

Pro Football Focus thinks so
Pro Football Focus recently released their list of ideal 2025 NFL Draft prospects for all 32 teams, and their pick for the New York Giants is Colorado standout Travis Hunter. It’s an intriguing choice, but does it really align with the Giants’ needs and current trajectory?
Hunter’s dual-threat ability as both a cornerback and receiver is undeniable. Heisman Trophy winners are no strangers to the NFL spotlight, and Hunter’s five interceptions and stellar 21.3% forced incompletion percentage have certainly earne ..read more

Joe Schoen’s right-hand man again drawing interest
The New York Giants’ struggles over the past two seasons do not seem to be impacting interest around the league in the team’s assistant general manager, Brandon Brown.
The Las Vegas Raiders have requested permission to speak with Brown about their vacant general manager job. The Raiders fired both GM Tom Telesco and head coach Antonio Pierce at the end of the 2024 season.
This is the first interview request for Brown, 36, in this hiring cycle. Last offseason he interviewe ..read more

Safeties coach Mike Treier also let go
The New York Giants have fired defensive backs coach/passing game coordinator Jerome Henderson and safeties coach Mike Treier, per NFL insider Mike Garafolo.
Henderson had been with the Giants since 2020 when he was initially hired by Joe Judge. He is a former NFL player and has been a defensive backs coach in the NFL since 2007.

Is Revel a hidden gem?
Cornerback is often cited as one of the more pressing needs of the New York Giants.
And as it so happens, the 2025 NFL Draft projects to have a deep, talented, and diverse cornerback class. It seems likely that value, need, and fit will all intersect at some point for the Giants and they’ll be able to find the second outside corner they’ve been looking for.
Eastern Carolina cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. has been flying below the radar at the national level. That’s to be expected given that he’s a small school cornerback who missed most of 2024 w ..read more
