With summer just round the corner and 40 ceremonies in my diary due to take place over the next 6 months, it is interesting to note that intimate elopement style weddings are trending in Greece.
There are a number of reasons why any couple will decide to travel to Greece to celebrate their love without a plane load of family and friends to join them.
The top 2 reasons for choosing an intimate elopement style wedding in Greece are.
Family issues. Fed up with trying to please everyone most couples who choose to elope do it because they believe that their wedding day is their day. They wan ..read more

More than half of the ceremonies that I write and officiate are for couples who have chosen a villa wedding in Greece. Some of these ‘villas’ are wedding venues in their own right, but others are simple beach houses, or even apartments.
Wedding or vow renewal ceremonies may take place on a terrace or veranda, or poolside, or perhaps on the beach at the waters edge. All in all a villa is the perfect spot for a romantic wedding ceremony in Greece.

As October comes to its end, I have just one more wedding ceremony left. I can hardly believe how fast the past few months have flown by. So here is a little look at my life as a wedding celebrant in Greece summer 2023.
How it began.
So it all began back in May with an intimate elopement ceremony on the wonderful Island of Santorini where Kensuke and Christine enjoyed an emotionally charged ceremony. The venue was the veranda at Canaves Oia. What followed was 40 ceremonies in different areas of Greece.

Summer in Greece is just around the corner and my wedding season as a celebrant in Greece is about to begin. Was it only a few weeks ago that I was in Australia? Is it a coincidence that 50% of the couples that have booked me to write and officiate their ceremonies in Greece summer 2023 are from Australia! So I ask myself, why are so many Australian couples getting married in Greece?
Gabriel and Alexis travelled from Australia in June 2022 to celebrate their intimate wedding ceremony at the Venetsanos Winery in Santorini. We all shed a tear!

The beautiful Island of Rhodes is located in the Dodecanese and is known as the Island of the sun as it is blessed with more that 300 days of sunshine a year. This is the main reason why couples choose the Island of Rhodes for their wedding in Greece. The summer season runs from April to the end of October with the high season months of July and August the hottest and most popular of all.

As a wedding celebrant I travel around the country writing and officiating truly special symbolic wedding ceremonies in Greece. I hate the word officiate! Because, perform, lead and conduct all seem like words more appropriate to my role. So, what would you choose for your wedding ceremony in Greece? A symbolic celebrant led ceremony or the civil version? Don’t forget I am just a little biased because I am a wedding celebrant in Greece!
