I’ll start by saying I’m a total noob when it comes to sidecars. But I’ve long thought they’re cool and would be fun. I have a chance to buy a 562 in good condition. The PO had it mounted to an R75/5, my potential mount will be an R75/6. In my initial reading on this forum I hear a lot of negativity directed at this car, but I’m not sure why. It’s referred to as lightweight, is that a drawback when mounted to an airhead? What are the other downsides ..read more

Raked telescopic vs leading link steering

I understand alot of the reasons the leading link is preferred. My question is, does one steer easier than the other, or does trail equal trail, regardless of how its achieved? The reason I ask, is a set of raked trees are cheap and easy, and I don't put a ton of miles on a year. Thanks ..read more

The Ural Club of Cuba is begging for bits and pieces to keep their old discarded military kick-start rigs running. If you have any parts lying around that you know would fit those old machines, could you donate them? I am going back there in January, taking an extra suitcase of just parts. Due to the weight and size restrictions, sorry, no engines, transmissions, or frames. Also, any extra metric tools you might have would be appreciated. Last year, I cleaned out my shop of all excess... Ural Club of Cuba needs 650cc Parts ..read more

Starting a 1150 GSA build. Using a rig I bought a while back for a friend who ended up buying my 1200 GSA. A 2003 1150 with a measly 44K on the clock. Doing a full build……Leading link…..subframe…..hack chassis and utility tub. Here’s a few shots of the start. Stay tuned…..I’ll be going at a fair pace to get it delivered. Before even starting my first sidecar experience, https://advrider.com/f/threads/1st-time-at-bat-a-hit-or-an-error.1085689/ , I looked forward to reading everything on the forum and gaining as much information about sidecars as I could. That continued after my project was finished and for the next few years enjoying driving the rig. I really felt part of a community even though I only actually met one person. Then cancer hit. My attention went elsewhere. When it looked like I... BMW 1150 Rockster Project ..read more
