If you haven't heard of them by now, Esembly diapers have been sweeping the cloth diapering world in style. Created by a team of Moms who used to run a cloth diaper service called Diaperkind in Brooklyn, Esembly knows babies, laundry and cloth diapers down to a fine art.  A two part system, the Esembly system features a 100% organic cotton 'Inner' diaper as the absorbency that goes on baby first, followed by a waterproof 'Outer' cover.  The system fits babies well in size 1 (7-17lbs) and then size 2 (18-35lbs). by Stephanie Planchak

What Is A Diaper Sprayer Good For
Cloth Diaper Kids Blog
by Stephanie Planchak
1M ago
A diaper sprayer is an optional cloth diapering accessory that many families find helpful.  If you haven't had one before, they are a simple spray nozzle and hose setup that attaches to the water line of your toilet allowing you to spray fresh water with an adjustable flow head.  You don't need any tools to install them and they are easy to add to any bathroom toilet.  Generally a diaper sprayer is used to spray poop off of the diaper so it can be flushed away and then the diaper is ready to wait in a wet bag for wash day. But besides serving as a way of deal ..read more

Cloth Diapers Smelly? How To Tell If It's Barnyard Or Ammonia Smell And What To Do About It
Cloth Diaper Kids Blog

It happens to the best of us.  If your diapers were coming out of the wash clean and smelling great but now they're starting to have a bit of a smell then it's time to go into troubleshooting mode.   Barnyard SmellsIf your diapers are coming out of the washing machine or dryer smelling faintly like poo or like a bit like a 'barnyard' then this is telling you that the diapers did not get clean enough in the wash. This can be caused by lots of things: Baby is bigger and starting solid foods and the loads are 'dirtier' going in. Perhaps you got a new washing machine and your sett ..read more

How To Explain Your Cloth Diapering Choice To Opinionated Family and Friends
Cloth Diaper Kids Blog
by Stephanie Planchak
2M ago
New parents shouldn't have to explain their parenting choices to nosy friends and family, but they always seem to have an opinion if you say you're using cloth diapers for your baby. Now you'll never have to fear a baby shower or Aunt Karen's visits again.  Here's a few things you can say if you feel you need to respond to those negative comments: - Cloth diapers are working well for us right now, so we're happy with this choice. - This is one way we're reducing our landfill contribution and it's saving us money too. - Cloth diapers actually keep our baby's skin healthier and we've ..read more
