If you like poignant flavors, go for the juniper forward notes. If you like a hint of, phrases such as “peach blossom,” “essence of,” “light notes,” the sound of the Beach Boys, fresh croissants, and cupcakes with home-made frosting, you’re going to want to be towards the 0 side of the juniper scale. You know when you want something and only that thing will do?  A lemon in a beer doesn’t quite cut it instead of a lime, being handed a slice of peach pie isn’t the same as apple at the end of Thanksgiving dinner. People think gin is intense, but they often confuse gin with the taste of juniper. You see, “gin people” are mistakenly broad stroked for juniper fans. But maybe nobody has told you the best kept secret of gin: in some of it, the Juniper is so subtle and so beautifully mixed, that you wouldn’t even know it was gin.  In this workshop, our distillery team will take you through the history of gin and distilling, exploring both traditional and contemporary gin profiles before assisting you with your very own gin blends.  You'll then use this new knowledge to create your own gin, by choos ..read more

The barrel we’ve been waiting eight years to open? Yeah, that barrel. We just released it. And we bottled it for you. And we have only eighteen bottles of whiskey on the shelf. A bottle boasting a whopping 137 proof, many would think it’d drink like firewater. Yet one sip of this whiskey and you’ll find a character so smooth, it could take the shirt off a travelling salesman's back. This Straight Bourbon Whiskey spent life aging in the California heat in charred American white oak barrels for eight contemplative years. It was dusted off from the corner of the warehouse in August 2020 when nine ..read more

The high cost of living…

This is an unfortunate situation for us, but the pandemic and associated complications are driving up costs. We have never increased prices on our bottles since we opened to the public in 2015. All through the shut down of our tasting room, making hand sanitizer and donating so much of it we fought raising prices. But, that time has done now that our glass bottle prices, labels, shipping, production and labor costs are forcing us to look at everything. This decision was not reached easily, and hope our supportive customers understand the situation. We have been very busy working on SB 620 at o ..read more

Whether you’re an enjoyer of the many tasty spirits California distillers have to offer or just someone passionate about empowering small businesses, we need your help. One silver lining of Covid19 was emergency regulations allowing direct-to-consumer shipping for spirits. Prior to March, 2020, craft distilleries were not allowed to ship spirits (vodka, gin, rum, whiskey) direct-to-consumer due to outdated prohibition laws. Customers had to physically visit the distillery for the ability to purchase their spirits. Over the past year and a half, distillers have had the chance to prove that we ..read more

Q: Why are craft-distilleries unable to ship direct-to-consumer like wineries are? A: Craft-distilleries still fall under Tied House Laws which were laws created after prohibition (in 1933) to set up a 3-tier distribution system.   Tier 1: Alcohol producers sells to distributors Tier 2: Distributors sell to retailers/restaurants Tier 3: Retailers/restaurants sell to consumers   Wineries have been successfully modifying these laws over the past several decades and now have the ability to sell direct to distributors, retailers, restaurants, AND consumers. Since wineries do n ..read more

Our candles from AMADOR CANDLE Co. are hand-made in California, using only the purest ingredients. Congratulations on finding the last place you’ll ever want to buy your candles from. The only task left is figuring out which scent to try first. Look at this way: we’re not trying to recall every sweetly sick candle scent you’ve ever smelled in the home goods section of a big box store and match what you think you like to that. Instead, remember this: every moment you’ve ever had that you’d want to go back to. Teak & Bamboo If you : are a fiend for the feeling of slipping your shoes off an ..read more
