Hi everyone, and welcome back to the Finder’s Archives. In this column, we take some of the lands from Magic: The Gathering and turn them into something you can use for your fantasy games. The stats given in each entry assumes that you’re using Pathfinder 2 or 5e for your games, but they can easily be converted over into any fantasy system. This time we consult the dead sages at the Crypt of Agadeem. Copyright Wizards of the Coast. Crypt of Agadeem The Crypt of Agadeem is a structural marvel built almost a millennium ago. It is dedicated to a now-forgotten god of knowledge, and yes the caretak ..read more

For the Love of Cthulhu Mess With Sanity Through Pushed Rolls
d20 Radio

I ran a Call of Cthulhu game recently on startplayinggames.com. The Keeper screen is still on my desk. The printouts of my original module are still on top of my reference books. Dice are still in the tray. This fresh off a game I have a new insight about how Keepers can mess with their investigators’ sanity through a mechanic completely different than Sanity rolls: Pushed rolls. I ran my original adventure Choo Chew, a modern era Call of Cthulhu adventure (you’d think things would be easier with the investigators having cell phones) where the investigators are members of a board of a nonprofi ..read more

The Workshop – Eliza Rowann, The Petticoated Swashbuckler (Fantasy AGE)

After coming up again in the news recently with another very unfavorable story, I have made the decision to start to distance myself from 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons. Luckily for me, the fantasy scene is ripe with other great products from the soon to be Kickstarted Tales of the Valiant game from Kobold Press to the recently published 2nd Edition of Green Ronin’s Fantasy AGE.  Today I am focusing on the latter.  I’m looking at the the character creation process and how it differs from the first edition of the game. The core of the game remains unchanged from its initia ..read more

X-Wing Tier List – Rebels
d20 Radio

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted something to really get people thinking I’m an idiot. What better way to do that than giving an opinion about something. Everyone loves tier lists, right? That sounds like a good way to easily display all the ways I am wrong. F-Tier What makes a ship just the worst? Why does this ship receive a failing grade? It was hard to do this, because I love the HWK, and have a soft place in my heart of Kyle and Jan. This was one of the first ships I bought after the core set and the Falcon. Kyle was in my first 1.0 tournament list almost a decade ago. The core trouble ..read more

Astral Projections – The Ripperdoc Is In

The Black Chrome sourcebook and recent Downloadable Content (DLC) for Cyberpunk RED have introduced more tools for the Medtech Role. As a longtime player of a Medtech, I couldn’t be happier. Note that a Medtech’s mileage for a given item may vary depending on their Role Ability choices. I have included prices in Eurobucks (EB) for some items. Pharmaceuticals don’t have a cost, since by RAW each one can only be obtained via the Medicine Role Ability. However, some GMs have house rules which allow Medtechs to obtain Pharmaceuticals they don’t know how to synthesize by other means, usually for a ..read more

For the Love of Cthulhu/Murmurs From the Q Continuum: Provide Non-Combat Encounter Solutions
d20 Radio
by Garrett Crowe

In Call of Cthulhu’s A Time to Harvest the writers present an alternate final encounter for Lore Keepers who are using the Pulp Cthulhu rule set. This type of gaming rule set allows the Player Characters to directly take the fight against Mythos monsters without a guarantee of a TPK. The final chapter involves the characters passing through a portal and infiltrating a Mi-Go city on the dark side of the moon. In this city, the Mi-Go are building a portal to their home dimension, Once it’s complete, they’ll have easy access to their home and, more importantly to the characters, it will alter the ..read more

The Workshop: Gamer Nation Con 8 Retrospective
d20 Radio

We’re a week out from Gamer Nation Con 8 as I write this. My brain is slowly reforming itself into a functioning organ after it was subjected to several weeks of intense convention prep and then four solid days of running and playing games. (Seriously – I went to do some work done on a project last night and I swear I heard it laugh at the prospect.) And I wanted to take a moment and get some thoughts about the convention down before they become memories that will become lost like tears in rain. One thing that Gamer Nation Con has always done well (at least insofar as I’ve been going) has been ..read more

Finder’s Archives – (Pros and) Cons
d20 Radio
by Kim Frandsen

Hello everyone and welcome to another episode of Finder’s Archives. At the time where I’m writing this, GamerNationCon has just finished, though you’ll likely be reading this a few weeks later. I’d planned on attending this year, but with how expensive everything got, and how quickly that happened, all that I’d set aside for it got washed away in a torrent of expenses. I still hope to attend one day, but who knows when that will happen. At the same time, physical conventions are relatively rare where I live, and online conventions are becoming increasingly common. So here is a list of the adva ..read more
