It seems that an old and familiar enemy has made its way back into the X-Wing game despite the efforts of developers to see it gone – the Points Fortress. For the uninitiated, points fortressing is denying your opponent points by preventing your opponent from killing a high value ship in your list. Not letting your opponent destroy your ships is a goal of the game, obviously, but points fortressing takes that concept to its extreme by having a ship or ships that are near unkillable. Due to the nature of the loadout system, the points on upgrades have different worth on different ships and pilots more so than before, despite being the same price for everyone. There are really only a few upgrades that truly need addressing likely with points hikes (i.e. Notorious, Chaff Missiles, The Child). But others cannot be addressed as such, because as long as the upgrade fits in a pilots loadout, they will take it. On May 21st and 22nd, the Midwest Scrubcast hosted the Midwest Scrubdown, an Extended 2.5 Tournament taking place at Miniature Market at 13380 Manchester Rd, Des Peres, MO 63131 near St. Louis, MO.
