This story was submitted by Kayla to enter to win an L&B ARES II digital altimeter through my Gear Giveaway #2. Submissions accepted until March 31st, 2023. As a student just beginning AFF, I was constantly taking in new information about a sport I knew very little about. Gear checks, proper exit, hand signals, free fall maneuvers, altitude awareness, canopy checks, emergency procedures, and so much more all running through my mind while also trying to calm the nerves of simply jumping out of a plane. One jump after another I was flying through AFF and gaining confidence as my instructors ..read more

This story was submitted by Cashley to enter to win an L&B ARES II digital altimeter through my Gear Giveaway #2. Submissions accepted until March 31st, 2023. Learning how to skydive has been such a crazy and exciting experience. Like most people I know, whenever skydiving would come up in conversation I would say “Oh my gosh, I totally want to go skydiving!” but really never put that much effort into planning a day to go, or scheduling a tandem. When I first started talking to my now boyfriend, he told me that him and his friends were going that weekend and of course I said the same thin ..read more

This story was submitted by Amy to enter to win an L&B ARES II digital altimeter through my Gear Giveaway #2. Submissions accepted until March 31st, 2023. My first tandem will stay as the moment my life would change forever. It was September 13th, 2021 at Skydive New England in Lebanon, Maine. The first time I went skydiving I was in a hard place in my life. To spare the details, it was a very depressing time for me, with a lot of big life changes not seeming to ever settle. But I knew I needed a huge change, an opportunity, a sliver of light in a very dark time. So, when a friend suggest ..read more

ColorAlti G2 Demonstration and Thoughts

https://youtu.be/6cGRe4vc75w Let me preface all this by saying, "I am partnered with Freefall Data Systems as a dealer and will financially benefit if you purchase this from me." Now lets get into the truth. ITS A GAME CHANGER for me. The FDS ColorAlti G2 is both an audible altimeter that you're used to and as close to a Heads Up Display for altitude that we have on the current skydiving market. Similar to how some audibles like FDS SonoAlti G2V can keep you constantly altitude aware by speaking the altitude the ColorAlti G2 gives you a constant indication of your given altitude based on an LE ..read more

My first jump was back in 2018. My father and I took our ground school class together at Skydive Cincinnati, where we both did our first jumps. Adter my first three jumps, I did not jump another four years. I was living nomadically and it got pushed to the back burner. In the winter of 2020 I came back home to Ohio, when my father was unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer at the age of 64. Before he passed he thanked me for asking him to go skydiving. He said that it was something he always wanted to do, and he felt that I should pursue it further. In 2021 I moved to Orlando to go to a technical ..read more

So, this was the day after I got my license down at ZHills with Noah. It was my first time on the sunset load, and a bunch of people (myself included) all decided to do a high-pull because it was such a nice evening. I remember hanging there under canopy at 10k feet watching the sunset, when Noah comes up to my side. I managed to shout "How's it hanging?" above the wind, and just took a moment to admire how awesome it was to be hanging out with cool people a mile up in the air watching a gorgeous sunset. Can't wait to jump with you again. Peace, Joe High pulls are some of my favorite jumps an ..read more

My journey and love for skydiving started in 2017 my first AFF jump I broke my leg! All I could think about was my next chance to jump. Three years later I started my goals over again I met Noah for my first static line jump. While he moved after just 6 jumps I continued my A license training and finished it. Since then I have had the opportunity to jump all over CA, OR, And CA I have met amazing people and pushed my limits I learned to slow down in the rest of my life. If not for skydiving, I am not sure where I would be today. It’s an amazing gift to have learned. Blue skies, everyone find ..read more
