COLLEGE STATION -- Edgerrin Cooper loves hog hunting head-on. He also loves head-hunting quarterbacks.
Perhaps he'll land with an NFL team with hogs nearby to taste his appetite before he finds his way into the backfield on Sundays dismantling quarterbacks, though it's not at the top of his wishlist.
“Whoever wants me, I’m ready to put on a show,” said Cooper following Texas A&M’s Pro Day on Tuesday at the Coolidge Performance Center. “To just have everybody look at me as a great player who comes to work every day — that’s all I’m looking for.”
Cooper can be that player. The junior Al ..read more

The Texas A&M Aggies football program is embarking on a new era in 2025 under new head coach Mike Elko and a slew of new coaches on the staff.
Elko has instilled a new culture in College Station that's been received favorably by the players, but what matters is what happens on the field. And Elko and the Aggies now know who they'll meet on the field in 2025.
The SEC announced earlier today that it would stay with eight conference games for the 2025 season, and that's reflected in the opponents listed for the 2025 Aggies' schedule.
Elko and the Aggies will play home games again ..read more

COLLEGE STATION -- Ainias Smith would be the first to admit he was frustrated when the news broke early Saturday morning in Indianapolis that he wouldn't be able to work out during on-field drills alongside what's considered a promising receiver class.
Smith, Texas A&M's most productive weapon over five seasons, had been dealing with leg discomfort. The pain had lingered, but Smith pushed through, treating it as nothing more than a shin split or a bone bruise.
Then came the news before the biggest job interview of his budding young career.
"Once [medicals] told me I neede ..read more

COLLEGE STATION -- Trev Alberts knew eventually he'd have to face off against his alma mater, but he didn't think it would come a week after his departure.
The new Texas A&M athletic director likely didn't think it'd happen twice, either. Well, the NCAA committee had a bit of tomfoolery up their sleeves heading into the madness known as March.
During Sunday's selection show, the men’s committee elected to pin A&M versus Nebraska in the first round of the South Region Friday evening at Memphis, Tenn.
Then, just to throw more fuel on the fire, the women’s selection comm ..read more

COLLEGE STATION -- Trev Alberts and Mike Elko will have time to build a budding relationship during their time at Texas A&M over the next few years, even if the two know little about each other entering spring football.
Elko, hired by then-athletic director Ross Bjork to replace Jimbo Fisher last November, knows what a move to College Station feels like for a non-Texas native. Alberts, who now takes over for Bjork as A&M's new athletic director, knows Elko is a "real football coach."
“He knows how to build a culture, and he knows how to build a tough team," Alberts said Monday upon his ..read more

Call St. Patrick's Day a lucky one for the Texas A&M Women’s Basketball team
The Aggies (19-12) secured an at-large bid as the No. 11 seed in the race to Albany's Sweet 16 for a chance to make it to the Final Four in Cleveland on April 5, ending a two-year hiatus from the 68-team event. But before A&M can dream of winning a national champion, it first must get past No. 3-seed Nebraska in Corvallis, Oregon Friday.
Addressing the media, head coach Joni Taylor eagerly discussed her team's upcoming clash with Nebraska in the NCAA tournament, drawing comparisons to Purdue's ..read more
