offers up a diverse mix of jams that are sure to delight the most discerning of listeners. voice shifts back and forth like only he can. Bass holds down the ensemble expertly, while the rhythm section offers up one of the best kick drum sounds I've ever heard. past body of work certainly speaks for itself, this is a more than welcome addition. Give it a listen, get weird with it. Get mad, get sad, be grateful he's back. offers up sulking southern sludge in stark contrast to the pounding assault of “ . ; because the album is so short, it feels like every song is precision crafted to offer only the best possible listening experience. Quality tracking, tight composition, and diversity makes a gem amongst the rubble of big-name releases, and a premier  worthy of all it’s accolades.   ..read more

2. Kana Tevoro (Kania! Kania!) 8. In The Lair Of The Rat Kings 10. The Procession (Death March To Eternity) isn’t running out of gas anytime soon. Blasting grind with thrashy riffs are as prevalent as melodic doom licks. The riffs for “ are especially disgusting, pulling from the world. Hell, there’s even a great guitar solo on “ refusal for stagnation has set them apart from their peers. After a handful of LPs and shorter releases they continue to grow and stay musically curious, a rarity for an extreme band over a decade old. They’ve gradually moved from a more grindcore oriented group to on ..read more

It’s not all shredding riffs and pounding rhythms however, there are many “striking grooves and eerie melodies” throughout, which help to move the listener along a musical path. With “ slow things down for a (mostly) instrumental track, accented only by a haunting denouncement of hatred spreading like a virus, choking out the light. The interlude is the only real break throughout the album, and it does a great job of setting off the final act. Concluding with pummeling drums, and mournfully distorted guitar parts, it gives way to probably the Blackest song on the record, “ are veterans of over ..read more

gift us with a soundtrack to our despair without offering any false hope, and in a world full of false hopes and promises, I am grateful for that. . With a dense, unforgiving atmosphere and breakneck speeds, offer up the perfect record for present times.  Give a listen. I think you'll understand. Throughout these tracks, one constant holds true. That is the beauty that can be found in dirt and disharmony.  This is loud, abrasive music, yes, but it's true beauty lies in its representation. Not everything ugly has a beautiful counterpoint. Not every low is resolved with a high.  S ..read more

is not an album for the faint of heart.  This falls securely into the range of music that can peel the paint off of walls.  It can crush skulls (and chests, I suppose,) and lay waste to the surroundings of your sound system.  But if pounding rhythms and searing leads are what you are looking for, then you will not want to sleep on is a positively evil sounding track, that I am sure could summon the devil himself with its swirling dynamics and crushing grooves.  is the perfect title to describe what it is the listener is about to hear.  , with its slowly picked introduc ..read more

It's an exhausting listen and one for fans of genre blending bands. The band are active and gigging in France- perhaps they will make the trip across from Rouen to the UK? I’m confident that everyone from crust punks to black metal fans would enjoy this both on record and in the live arena. Frightening stuff. Black Omega Recordings | Black Terror Distro | BRC-30 (that one I can understand!) is exactly like the title implies while elsewhere the band mixes hardcore, black metal, grindcore, post metal and punk elements to concoct a heady mixture that works ..read more

À Nos Morts by Pilori SL: Hey Greg, welcome to THE SLUDGELORD!! Could you  our readers a little about yourself, how you started playing music, leading up to the formation of your band? Gr. As so many and many bands, the start of is simple and not so interesting.
