M-Theory Audio recently announced the signing of extreme power trio KARRAS to their roster. The Parisian band return with a second sampling of the band’s sound with the video for new single “Roland Doe.” Inspired by old-school death metal and grindcore influence the group follows up the 8 second assault of “Demons Got Rhythm” with a longer track (2:11) showcasing different facets of the group’s repertoire. Interview with Greg of DEATHGRAVE
Antichrist Magazine » Grindcore
by Stanley Hatt

Hello Greg! Can you tell us about the overall creative process behind your forthcoming album, “It’s Only Midnight”? How did you approach writing and recording this album compared to your previous releases? I think the approach was similar. One major divergence began with a large portion of the riffs being conceptualized in the room as opposed to riffs being brought into the room. The riffs seem more visceral writing this way. How do you feel that “It’s Only Midnight” differs from your debut LP and other releases? Were there any specific influences or inspirations that helped shape the sound of ..read more

Review: SKAM “The Sound of Disease” [Petrichor]
Antichrist Magazine » Grindcore
by Mat Childs

Is it grindcore? Is it brutal/black/death metal? Is it empathetic or a cry for help? Either way, the Swedish one-man project comes at us full-pelt in a darkened side alley armed to the teeth with every horror film weapon imaginable. A rabid and ferocious album, even its moments of quiet and relative stillness have a powerful and ominous air – first track, brilliantly titled Have You Tried Not Thinking About It (an obvious dig at the toxic irreverence and dismissiveness of friends/relatives/counsellors’ advice on dealing with low moods, intrusive thoughts, or worse), starts with pensi ..read more

Review: Anaal Nathrakh “Endarkenment” [Metal Blade Records]
Antichrist Magazine » Grindcore
by DeadGlassEyes

The following statement will make sense by the end of this review – Anaal Nathrakh are just in it for the money. This is something that has been bothering me for quite some time now. When I say bothered, it’s not like I’m losing any sleep over a black metal band from the UK, but bothered every time I come across their name, or stumble on one of their tracks. I can’t help but feel let down. Every single time they announce a new album, I’ll be thinking “Yes, this time. This time they’ll unleash hell” but each time I’m like a fat kid who just had his ice cream knocked out of his hand. The problem ..read more
