Life often does not go as expected. And yet one predictability is all aspects of life come and go in waves. I recorded the waves in this piece while on vacation in Napa, California, as a smart phone video. I was sitting on Rock Point Beach having just awoken from a sun-nourished nap accompanied by the gentle crashing of the waves. I wanted to remember the moment by capturing the visual and the sound. We all have our childhood dreams for feeling of loved and accepted. This music only version of my June 4 release was inspired by the challenges I felt trying to reconcile the ongoing extreme suffering of children. From Indigenous residential schools to war torn countries, many children go through far more than many of us will ever comprehend. And many of us feel helpless as we want to support these children as best as we can.
