Hello, I have reinstalled KUbuntu 24.04 on my notebook (Schenker Media 15, Core i7 12700H, 32GB Ram, Nividia RTX3050, Samsung SSD990 PRO). The system runs very well so far. However, when I drag programs from the start menu to the desktop, I cannot start them from the desktop. Regardless of whether the desktop is a folder or a desktop. If I double-click the entries in Dolphin in the Desktop folder, the programs start. The same behavior can be seen in a test installation in a Virtualbox VM. Looking forward to help. Hi I see some similar problem in the forum but no one really match with mine. I had Kobuntu 22.04 running in my desktop. Now I installed 24.04 in dual boot with Win 11. After installation and reboot my grub appear and I can login in Kubuntu without any problem. Restart, grub again no problem but after blank screen. I try to install again 3 times and always the same, first start perfect and after blank screen. Between the restarts I never start Win11. Hi All, I've a fresh install of Kubuntu 24.04/Wayland on a laptop and Discover will not start (from menu or CLI with plasma-discover) . All other apps I've tried work fine. Snap was first introduced into the ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Being now Kubuntu 24.04 LTS, ie 8 years of development, one would think that the teething bugs in snap, would have been well and truly fixed by now. I notice on this forum that many are still not wanting to use snap packages. Therefore extra effort has to be used for installing deb packages without snap. I used to religiously remove snap packages, but now I do not bother and use Synaptic or the command line to install. For example I now have as the snap packages; Thunderbird, Chromium and Firefox. Well, it was bound to happen. I was having too many nagging problems with Plasma 6 on Neon so because it was raining and didn't feel like getting wet, I bit the bullet and installed Kubby 24.04 over it. At last I can type in Japanese on my system! I miss KWeather and other nicities from Plasma 6 but I think it's best if I let it mature a bit! Snap has gone and I'm using official Thunderbird and Firefox! (Thanks Black Kitten!)
