I have recently moved to Kubuntu and have made sure snap is installed and have enabled canonical-livepatch as usual for new installations, however I have noticed that unlike the regular version of Ubuntu, on Kubuntu there does not seem to be a way to check the status of livepatch aside from running the canonical-livepatch status command. I tried installing these several times, but the same error keeps occurring every time. During installation, I selected manual partitioning, created an ext4 partition, checked the encrypt box, entered a passphrase, selected / as mount point, and proceeded with the installation. When I open a file and scroll a few lines, I see what's in the screenshots. Applies both to VSCode and WebStorm. A few text lines in the editor are somehow deleted and replaced with a horizontal straight line. A bug in some UI library like GTK??? this is a known issue with *ubuntu and Dell laptops, there are hundreds of hits to this question; the webcam is simply not recognized by the system and one needs to add a ppa repo (this one: ppa:oem-solutions-engineers/oem-projects-meta) and stuff is sort of solved (alternatively, the solution is simlar and asks to add libcamhal). I solved the problem before on my Dell, that way. But: now that I updated to 24.04 it is of course no more, since that ppa repo does not work with 24.04. Solutions?
