Reverberates or echoing when people talk or if I have internal pressure change

I’m having reverberates or echoing when people talk or if I have internal pressure change like yawning, just before a burp, or movement of the jaw in a certain way. I believe it has to do with some kind of pressure change. I went to a cochlear implant expert, and he checked with imaging and said there was no fluids in the inner ear and that everything looked fine. He was unable to give me an answer as what was going on. I can flip my ear and make the sound appear. Right ear only. Not sure if it’s to do with tinnitus or my ear drum. Has anyone had this issue 1 post - 1 participant Read full top ..read more

Possible to select multiple options on Widex "Zen" for Tinnitus?

I am preparing for an appt this coming week to remotely fit my new Widex Moment Sheer 440’s. I watched the video re choosing a helpful tone and will do that again, as one did seem to quiet it down. I read a brief sales support guide that left me with a couple questions. It seems that there are two ways to use the “tone” you choose: As a constant background masking setting kind of like white noise or on demand. Can a user switch back and forth or does the tech have to make changes? Does the user have the ability to select different sounds or do I have to pick one and the tech programs my aid to ..read more

Why does OSHA derating of 50% to NRR also apply to custom molded earplugs?

Does anyone know? I’m planning on getting custom molded earplugs of 26dB NRR from Starkey for concerts of 1-2 hours. These usually are 105 dB. Some even go up to 120dB or for longer durations so I plan on carrying earmuffs. 2 posts - 2 participants Read full topic ..read more

Have had Tinnitus since October but have really started to focus on it’s behavior. Some weeks it’s not to bad than other times it’s like someone is turning a knob in my ear, swishes around, tone of the frequency changes. Can pulsate. Is all this apart of tinnitus. I’ve got my first hearing aid fitting with the NHS Tuesday and will probably go private after this to get tinnitus app etc 3 posts - 3 participants Read full topic ..read more

How are hearing aids that I can’t sleep in supposed to help my tinnitus I mostly hear at night?

I saw an audiologist for tinnitus that I only ever hear at night. She put me in a $7000 pair of hearing aids that I’m supposed to wear ten hours a day. At first she said it was a two week trial but they charged me $7000 before I left which I had to put on a credit card so I am assuming/hoping I’ll get refunded if they don’t work. I asked what happens when I take off the hearing aids at night and she said as long as I wear them 8 hours a day, I’ll be fine. I’ve had them for a few days now and now I hear tinnitus 24/7. It’s possible I hear it in the day time now because I’m thinking about it so ..read more

Tinnitus: if suddenly worse, can it get better?

My tinnitius is worse in my right ear, louder and 24/7. I have been using Flonase and a steroid spray to open my eustachian tubes for about two years. I wonder if one or both may have contributed to the sudden rise in my tinnitus. and so I’ve pretty much stopped using them. Have folks here ever had tinnitus get suddenly worse and then, after a time, go back to something like it was before? or is it always progressive, with no going back? 8 posts - 7 participants Read full topic ..read more

Your experience using Resound Tinnitus solution

I purchased the Costco Jabra Enhanced Pro 20 HA and found out the Resound tinnitus feature comes with these HAs but can only be turned on by a Resound reseller. Before I pay for the over priced office appointment, I’d like to know what kind of experience others have had with the tinnitus solution. I’ve used the free Resound app “relief” and a couple of other ones and they are OK if I’m somewhere it’s quite and I remember to turn it on but not really a solution for day-to-day use. Thank you. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Hi I have just had my 6th covid jab and I noticed after my 4th booster around November 2021 I had a more frequent tinnitus always had a level of tinnitus that in past only really occurred when ill or stressed. Ever since my 5th jab last year I’ve had an increase in tinnitus and my hearing dropped and took 8 months to recover back to where it was before having my covid booster. I now feel like after just having had my booster I am again experiencing an increase in the level of my tinnitus. Also not when speaking to people but when watching tv or watching something on YouTube or twitch I have to ..read more
