In the 2022 edition of the GCA Journal, we look at the history of the Big Bore Baby GLOCKs, the G29 chambered in 10mm Auto, and its 45 Auto cousin, the G30. It is hard to believe but these guns have been around for 25 years and are still a benchmark for large caliber, subcompact pistols. TALO Distributors announced on November 8 the introduction of the GLOCK G49 MOS to the United States commercial market. The G49 MOS is the latest model in GLOCK's lineup of crossover models. It is similar to the popular GLOCK G45, but different. The G49 MOS features a G19 size grip frame with a G17 size slide, so think of it as a short grip and longer slide. With the announcement of four new GLOCK pistols, we have updated the Matrix which is the official list of GLOCK serial numbers and letters prefixes of guns shipped or built in the US. New to the Matrix is the GLOCK G47 MOS the commercial variant of the GLOCK pistol developed for the Customs and Border Patrol Agency, the 10mm Auto Glock 20 is now available in a Gen5 variant as is the .45 Auto G21 which is also now available as a Gen5 model. Back in 2019 GLOCK introduced the G47, an LE-only pistol. As the story goes the G47 was developed for the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and was and still is not available to the commercial market. The GCA recently received an email about a Glock 20 that was given as a gift. The new owner was looking to learn more about it as it seems to be a "rare" gun. According to the Book of Glock the G20 is a Gen 3 variation 3 and only 500 were made. The serial number falls in between CNS261US and CNS760US. In addition to the unique serial number, this Glock is equipped with the original Crimson Trace red dot that is built into the frame.
