The staff account for One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda on X (formerly Twitter) has revealed some of the oldest One Piece art in existence, featuring Luffy, Nami, and Zoro before the manga was first serialized. Luffy is pictured with a long weapon which may be a spear, or staff in line with his Sun Wukong/Monkey King inspiration. The Fukuoka Regional Taxation Bureau announced on April 1 that the popular artist behind The Apothecary Diaries manga, Nekokurage, had been charged with violating the Income Tax Act on February 29, 2024. Kyodo News reports Nekourage allegedly failed to declare around 260 million yen (~$1.7m) in income, with 47 million yen ($310k) subject to taxation. The undeclared income was gained between 2019 to 2021. Natsumi Matsuzaki, the artist of the Yatagarasu manga adaptation, is joining the staff of the upcoming Karasu wa Aruji wo Erabanai anime after it was discovered that the series borrowed the setting from the manga although it adapts the novel.
