In April 2024, California’s 500,000+ fast food workers will get a pay raise! The California minimum wage is increasing to $20 per hour for fast food workers. This is an increase from the current minimum wage of $15.50, which was set to increase to $16 an hour on January 1st. In September 2023, California Governor Gavin Newson signed the new legislation (AB 1228), which also authorized the Fast Food Council to set fast food restaurant standards for minimum wage and working conditions.
