Trying out the new Microsoft Flight simulator I spotted that a British carrier was alongside in Portsmouth harbour. In the spirit of Microsoft Flight Simulators of the past I decided that I should attempt a landing – after all didn’t everyone land the Learjet on the carrier in FS95? Unfortunately two Cessnas later I concluded that the ship is made of water. But all is not lost as MSFS2020 includes an amphibian!! There is a new version 5.3 build 139 available for download. The new version addresses two significant issues that were introduced with Version 5.0. Issue 1 The first problem was a FSX load error after the libraries were installed that prevented FSX running. The problem here was that I had accidentally created a reference to the latest version of the DX10 DirectX libraries (June 2010). There is a new version of Cloud Shadows available. Version 3.0 has the following changes 1.  Will patch Flight SIm Store installations to Fixer version 5.2 2.  Improvements  to reliability of cloud shadows in deserts It also include some bonus Fixer improvements that are provided by use of the Cloud Shadows Sim Connect interface. a)  When HD shadows is enabled all external cameras should show shadows correctly – the fixer alone could not detect this and shadows were false or not shown. b) Waves on water are aligned with the wind reported by FSX . c)  The legacy cl ..read more

There is a new 5.2 version available from the Fastspring website.    This is a fairly minor update to 5.0/5.1 as follows Recognises and supports new Steam Beta release   Slight GUI redesign and changes to installation prompts Bug fix for nav lights and beacons which were not shining on aircraft surfaces  It is now available to all fastspring customers. Cloud Shadows 2.2 is now available  for download for existing customers and for purchase for new customers.   This release provides a mechanism for customers who purchased the fixer from the Flight Sim Store to patch the fixer internals to version 5.1 Note that there is no actual need for Fastspring customers to upgrade from 2.0 or 2.1 as functionally the three versions are identical.     ..read more

There is a new 5.0 version available from the Fastspring website.    This release has Improvements to legacy scenery which should now be nearly 100% accurate.  All the minor  issues with aes-lite trains and buses have been sorted. The new version extends the objects that show shadows to include legacy scenery, vehicle and boat traffic and more buildings in cities.
