Alta Vista Our Alta Vista clients were willing to take a deep dive into bold colors, paneling details, and striking wallpaper selections.  The contrast in each room captures the attention of any spectator, and who doesn't love a peacock pattern? Remodeling isn't for the faint of heart, and this project had its fair share of frustrations for the client, including construction delays.  At Etch, we believe communication is fundamental to a successful design, and we were in constant communication with the builder throughout the process to alleviate stress on the client and assist in ..read more

Allendale Thinking outside the box was the key for this master bathroom. The main criteria set by the client was to keep the existing tub location, which was under the only bathroom window. Everything else was reconfigured to create a spacious shower area to include the tub, a substantial increase in counter space, and an enclosed water closet. Our favorite element in this space is the symmetry provided by the water closet window and shower niche; the interior window on the shower wall allows natural light into the water closet and also creates a unique design element for the shower. Bryker Woods Aesthetically, the clients desired a bright and inviting space with a hint of character.  We achieved this by mixing chrome and brass finishes, white cabinets with a blue island, and a custom live edge dining table made locally in Austin Texas.  The original kitchen had a compact layout with minimal work surface area, which underutilized the space.  Our design created a symmetrical kitchen and increased the work surface area significantly. The new kitchen feels open and spacious, as we also removed the wall between the kitchen and dining areas. See the "before ..read more

Courtyard This remodeled bathroom was the #1 most popular bathroom photo in 2018 on Houzz!  This eclectic guest bathroom combines brass elements with a hexagon theme, inspired by the original shower window. The flooring is a picket tiffany blue and white tile, paired with a white honed picket shower wall tile. The navy blue vanity adds a colorful pop to the space and provides balance for the room. The goal was to create an eye-catching bathroom that also provided functional aspects, such as increasing the width of the shower as well as a fixed and a removable shower head for dual clean ..read more

Northwest Balcones Kitchens with 45 degree angles give us nightmares. We truly enjoy right angles, and thankfully so did our clients. We reoriented the entire kitchen to make this more suitable for our client's needs, removing their 45 degree angles. They also wanted a larger pantry and we made it accessible from the walkway to the dining area, in turn creating wine storage. The master bath was the biggest design challenge, as the clients wanted the bathroom to visually seem larger than it was. The previous design felt closed off and "choppy", so we redesigned the shower and adjoining clo ..read more

Circle C This residence was inspired by our client’s love for modern farmhouse design. Our challenge was to create a neutral backdrop throughout the home with subtle unique elements sprinkled throughout. From the gray, black, and white palette to the brass, chrome, and walnut accents, we have lived true to that inspiration. The entry greets you with a custom floating walnut credenza and screen, which is viewable from the dining room as well. The kitchen features a leathered Absolute Black granite island with a traditional farmhouse sink and white marble perimeter countertops. The master b ..read more
