Country Kitchen with Downtown Style We love a good Before & After as much as the next person, but this Kitchen transformation took things to a new level. While a lot of our work leans more modern comfortable and our office is located in the heart of downtown, we met this client, saw her Kitchen, and had to put an OI twist on country Kitchen design! Before: This empty-nester couple had purchased a beautiful old farmhouse originally built in 1861. Over the years, they sourced and inherited an impressive collection of antique furnishings and other vintage collectibles. The character of this ..read more

St. Regis Renovation

Reimagining the St. Regis Last year, Outline Interiors had the pleasure of designing and renovating one of the first condos purchased at The Residences at the St. Regis. We loved reimagining this space for a couple of dream clients looking to downsize. This project allowed us to play with color and strategize a re-work of the layout to create a sleek backdrop for the client’s extensive art collection and allow optimal storage. To compliment the client’s eclectic artwork and decor, as well as the stunning east and south views from the 22nd floor, we decided to go with blue tones, airy material ..read more

Introducing: The Fulton Skyline Loft

Featured in The Wall Street Journal I get it now. I really get it. THIS is why people hire us. Coming through the other side of designing and managing my own full loft gut renovation (while pregnant, subsequently giving birth, all while having “real clients”) – I have doubled down on my conviction that what we do as interior designers adds tremendous value. But let’s step back – I want to tell the whole story from the beginning. In 2017, my then-fiance (now, husband) Charlie and I started scouring Chicago for our perfect first home to purchase. We had both moved to Chicago from New York in 201 ..read more

When I purchased my condo, I had to start from scratch with furniture. After hours upon hours of internet searching, I had narrowed my choices down to approximately 80 couches, 25 beds and 40 different options for counter stools. At this point, I realized that I needed help. After another extensive internet search, this time for interior designers, I found Outline Interiors. I loved Laura’s previous projects, so I contacted her and started the process of creating my dream space. Laura listened to my ideas, took my budget into consideration and did what I found impossible; she narrowed my c ..read more

When you live in your home for over 20 years, it can be such a game changer to spruce up your bathrooms to make it feel new! That’s exactly what these lovely clients wanted to do, and we were so excited to start their home renovation by taking their bathrooms from outdated + dreary to elevated + luxe.         Our clients brought us a vision that we were so excited about! They wanted to upgrade both their upstairs + downstairs bathrooms to feel more luxe and clean, and have a hospitality vibe to them. We decided to use a black + white palette for both bathrooms so th ..read more

Behind The Scenes: Vintage Kitchen
Outline Interiors Blog

Whenever anyone is in the process of buying a house, we always recommend bringing a designer in as early as possible — which is exactly what these awesome clients did! It makes the whole transition streamlined from the beginning, and is a great way to set a cohesive design vision to make your new house feel like your home. For this project, our clients had recently purchased a home that had a lot of vintage charm — but it wasn’t exactly functional, and that “charm” definitely was super dated. It was time for a gut kitchen renovation to open up and brighten the space, and design it to reflect o ..read more
