A survivor in the yard today.

So great to have a moose in the yard this afternoon. It’s been a horrible winter for the moose, with almost all-time record-breaking snow. It’s still hard for them to access food up here on the hillside, so especially nice to see this one in the neighborhood. click on image for full-screen ..read more

We moved No Reservations from the engine shop back to the small boat harbor in Seward on Monday. Safely back in her slip and hoping to get a lot more use out of her this season than last. Just have to be patient breaking in the new engine. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize ..read more

How do you get an engine out of a boat?

I’ve been working on a big project the last couple of weeks. We blew an engine in our boat, so had to haul it out of the water and get it to the crazy-busy shop that could do the swap. The scary part is that the engine had to come out of the window on the side of the boat, that’s the only opening that was big enough. Thankfully, it went great. Engine out, a complete rebuild, and back into place, all without a single scratch. View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize View fullsize ..read more

Hanging out under the backyard spruce trees today, sheltered from the falling snow. Just beginning to see a bit of brown hair under the white. Maybe Spring is slowly coming our way. click on image for full-screen ..read more

We drove out to Willow for the official start of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race on Sunday. Our friends on Long Lake always throw an Iditarod start party, and we had a blast. The temperature warmed up nicely throughout the afternoon. It’s always fun to see these dogs that absolutely love to run! Way too many pictures as usual.
