From "the guy the neighbors dogs bark at" to "The guy with cookies in his pocket".
Yesterday, drove my quad up to chat with the neighbors and their dogs started eyeing me weird and barking, till they learned my pocket was stuffed with dog cookies....
Today, went back up for a minute, and they remembered, lol. Much cookie chomping ensued ..read more

Morning !
I don't know if you all are as beat up as I feel. Rigorous weekend in the Turkey woods.
1 bird for me two for my old hunting parter of 60 years.
Instead of the weekend being a time to rest I'm back to work and finding it as a time to rest to support my weekends in the woods.
Have a great week.

Last week my friend at Solera Brewery messaged me to say that while the taster trays I made for them 13 years ago!!! were still working great (more a testament to how robust waterlox is than anything on my part..) they desperately needed more of them going into summer. I told him that I could squeeze it in but he was lucky he wasn't a week later cause it'd have been 2+ months before it would have been able to happen in that case.

I'm sticking this under General Woodworking since it is pretty general in nature. I am taking up the time between big steps of my current project to make LOML happy. Recently, something called dirtlocker came up on my facebook feed and it seems like it might be a good/easy way to terrace and landscape the hillside.
Dirt Locker
The cost for this system would be about 4k, not including extra fill dirt.
Just wanted to what you guys thought about this idea. I really do need to do something, but I can't even imaging trying to do...

Think it's safe to say we have a an idea of what a very wet winter means for unwanted moss cultivation.
Another half day (some hopes) without rain may see us giving it best for a while.
Not that we are too precious about the patches of grass but when the Lawn mower starts getting bogged up to its axles in a bouncy cushion folks start passing comments ..read more

While disassembling my lumber cart the other day I had plenty of time to wax philosophical and ponder the reason I had so much time.
The lumber cart was one of the overly beastly monstrosities that never really offered the space saving joy and portable happiness I had envisioned when I built it some 15 years ago. I probably should have taken it apart long ago but never really got the motivation..
I also vastly overbuilt the thing. Hannibal could have marched his entire army across...
